Getting rid of Barrett will fix everything. Just like I told you that Juan Pierre was exactly what the Cubs needed.
I’m off to Wisconsin for family vacation. Just stopped at my folks’ house to water their plants. I just thought I’d stop by to report that, even for Santo, he’s in rare form:
1) Started off his extra pre-game interview with Cliff Floyd by addressing him as “Floyd”
2) Had a bug up his ass IMMEDIATELY about Padilla’s rain-delay approach to pitching. Like from the very first pitch after Soriano got on base in in the first.
3) When Pie was up in he 2nd, he said, before the 3-1 pitch, “Ya gotta do it here because the pitcher’s up next.” Pat, being well-trained on playing the Nice Guy, let it go before announcing the walk to Pie, and then announced the “NEXT HITTER, RYAN THERIOT!” To which Santo immediately howled, “That’s RIGHT! American League! I ga, I don’t, I’m just…GONE.” And then they both basically laughed about how fucking retarded he is. Sad, but still good times. The Texas heat must be killing the poor bastard. That and this fucking team.
Well, if Mariotti is stealing from me, he finally has an excuse for how bad a writer he is.
Were he to steal from me more often, at least he wouldn’t be as stupid.

Ninth inning Soriano dives, catches a ball then drops it when he hits the ground for a single. Sac bunt. Lofton caught off third by Howry on a comebacker, but beats the throw back to second. Catalanotto hits one to right, Pagan dives, but the ball comes out when he hits the ground, Cubs lose.

The good news is, Peter Angelos is gving up final say over baseball matters. The bad news is, he’s given it to Andy MacPhail. The worse news is, Dusty is being considered to manage the Orioles. They already have KKKorey, can Jock be far behind? Cripes, they’re putting the 06 Cubs back together. . . What does it say to you when you look to the Cubs for help rebuilding your once great franchise? Should have waited another week, you could have gotten Ramon Hernandez and Kevin Millar for Barrett and Jock. Oh, and there will be an opening for a pitching coach soon, have Larry send his resume . . .
Isn’t July 1 Michael Barrett Bobble Head night?
Hmmm….
When did Derreck Lee become me?
That’s a hell of a swinging neckbreaker Jock has going on there. Maybe the WWE would like to take his contract off our hands.
I’m in the lineup today!
Lineups:
Cubs
Soriano, LF
Fontenot, 2B
Lee, DH
Ward, 1B
DeRosa, 3B
Bowen, C
Pagan, RF
Pie, CF
Theriot, SS
Rangers
Kinsler, 2B
Hairston, LF
Young, SS
Byrd, CF
Diaz, DH
Melhuse, C
Wilkerson, RF
Metcalf, 3B
Vazquez, 1B
I plan to make next inning last one hour.
Is there a legitimate major league team if you combine us?
No.

Oh, and dude: Slope is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian American, please.
But they piss on your carpet!!
FYTheriot! I’ve left 7 men on base today! Seven! And your sorry ass is batting two spots above me!
My favorite part of Lou’s press conference yesterday was what he said about Barrett. “He’s a good kid. Hard worker. A good player…uh…good hitter.”
Was Jerry the lesser part of the Sosa deal? AND Fotenot? AND Murton? Can anyone name all ofthe players in that deal?
Uh……Murton came from the Garciaparra deal. No math required there.
Murton came over with me for Alex Gonzalez and Frankie Beltran
In before lock!
Time to peg that yellow bastard pitching!!!
Am I too late to make a difference this year?
Please hire Dusty, MacPhail!
I’m in for the slant….
23 runners LOB today? wow
Strike Three.
When do the Rangers’ crappy pitchers come in?
MARK IT ZERO!
Here I come bitches!
Not so fast, 160.
I am the season.
I need to learn how to dive. I caught that and then my bellyflop made me drop it.
Nice rundown Bob!
why do in 10 innings what can be done in 9?
Bob fucked that rundown up, but Kenny was out.
Brown Spot Bob strikes again.
like I said…
That was a fun loss.
Great stuff.
I’m in!! Kick rocks Quite Riot!!!
That loss is me. Again.
And for all effects, the season as well.
Nice of the Cubs to lose the series to the worst team in the AL.
Damn we suck…..
I rear my ugly head again.
Aren’t all losses fun? What else is there? I suppose witnessing history, like being no-hit, would be more funner.
I’m 0 for 3 with three strikeouts for my new team….you guys still love me though, right?
Didn’t we witness history yesterday?
#176: And I have a passed ball.
Don’t forget about me, Michael. You’ve got one of me, too.
Passed ball? I passed one of my balls last year after having it sqeezed out of my sack.
do i strike twice (i.e. jock jones trade talks..?)

Oh, and there will be an opening for a pitching coach soon, have Larry send his resume . . .
