Today was Ron Santo’s funeral, and three men gave eulogies to Ron, and Pat Hughes, his longtime broadcast partner went last, and honestly, they just don’t get any better than this.
Awesome, even with Jesse fucking Jackson sulking in the background the whole time.
I’m a little disappointed that Pat didn’t make an attendance game joke at the beginning.

Indeed, Pat Hughes is amazing. Teared up a bit when he spoke about the number retirement ceremony – I remember not thinking too much about it that day.
BK, I agree. He seemed to be setting up the perfect “…Ron also would have been off by several thousand attendees today.”
Pat Hughes delivered his eulogy with the combination of comedy and respect that only he could. He is clearly going to miss his good friend in and outside the booth.
