I feel stupid for typing this in response to a Wheezerpost but....are you by chance thinking of William Hurt (i.e. Altered States)?

Heh, yes. I'm becoming concerned that I may be having an ominously late-'70s psychic Van Morrison vibe trying very untimely to burrow a warren right into the flood plain of my head.

I loved Richard Burton in Trilogy of Terror, though.
