Slump? What slump?

Schwarber's market correction will be a thing to behold.

I'm really ready to behold it. Any time now, Kyle.

Maybe send him to AAA, let him bash a few dingers to get his confidence back, and bring him back up all fixed and ready to mash. Market: corrected.

His inability to field his position and hold runners is going to make him worthless in close playoff games. The Dodgers have all 4 runs because this guy can't play his position.

Oh this one's even better

Are we really going to start turd mining everyone's hot takes on this board? It won't end well.

Oh I don't mind hot takes, I've fired off more than a few in my day, you can re-read this thread and find several of us screaming WHY WONT HE JUST THROW TO FIRST. I think the difference is more that CFIHP v Lester was a continued pattern of confirmation-bias fueled Chuckian trolling where he'd disappear for months at a time only to pop up after the occasional Lester stinker to tell us why he was DOOMED. That kinda bad faith fan-ing deserves scorn.

"Trolling" implies that he was posting to get  reaction. He was posting because he thought he was right.

But the rules say Chuck is always wrong, therefore it's trolling.

Solid. And saved the bullpen.

...and all that was found in the ashes of the barn was a set of hauntingly white teeth.

And Fork, who showed up late

Fuck John Lackey.

This is the thread for annoying pissants from other teams we can't stand, you wanna hate properly on Lackey you dig in and set a barn on fire like a proper Desipiot.

Act like you've been here before, Fork. Damn.

A little disappointed at how quickly the show reverted to the status quo instead of exploring new territory (Richard working together with Gavin) for more than a couple episodes.

Zack Cosart and Joey Votto. (They don't save the Reds from getting their asses kicked but I still hate them.)

I don't mind Votto, guy's a superstar. Cozart is annoying though. Dude's OPS vs the Cubs is almost 60 points higher than his overall OPS for his career and he's hit 9 of 62 career homers against the Cubs. He and Hamilton can fuck off.

Votto is from Canada. Canada's quota of baseball players I do not wish to have die in a fire is two: Rich Harden and Ferguson Jenkins. And Harden only made the list because he had to put up with Ryan Dempster for a season and a half.
Ryan Braun was born in Canada.  That's two strikes.
California.

Canada does not breed that level of douche. Ryan Dempster excepted.

Let me introduce you to a fella named Corey Perry...

Justin Bieber's on line 1.

Eddie Davis is the bullpen's best friend.  He represents full-time employment for them.

That inning was brutal but this is his second start, his first he threw six scoreless. Let's give him a few before we throw him into Brett Anderson's firebarn.

With his control you can trade him for Darvish so he can actually be Walker: Texas Ranger.

I don't remember even really paying any attention to Mendy before 2014. He was a flash in the pan who topped out I think at like #87 on the top 100 prospects list. I don't remember anyone penciling him in as part of the core.

Buddy, *current Cubs scout* Jason Parks would like a word.

Iíve always liked Alcantara, but I was too low on him coming into the season, despite a skill set that has three-way impact potential at the highest level (hit/glove/run). Now that the 22-year-old has taken his talents to Triple-A, and exceeded expectations at the plate and on base, the future first-division player has jumped the list and emerged as a top 20 prospect in the game. --Jason Parks

Fair enough. What I should have said is being mentioned in the same breath as the core or as a likely complement to the core. Like this, for instance:

Quote
First, the rise. Not really that long ago, his name was among the prospects that Cubs fans were getting excited about, although not as excited as the top names in the system, but he was garnering a lot of attention just a year and a half ago. In the summer of 2014, he was probably up there with Jorge Soler and Javier Baez.

Or this:

Quote
Any team can have a bad century -- Alcantara might be the first of the new wave who can erase those bad memories and create new ones.

And one more:

Quote
The touted Core Four of Javier Baez, Kris Bryant, Albert Almora and Jorge Soler likely wonít see Wrigley this season, but one of the lesser-known but perhaps just as talented minor leaguers will.

Turns out he was absolutely nothing like any of those guys. That's what I meant.

Hey remember when Arismendy Alcantara didn't suck and was being mentioned as part of the core? Me either.

God bless the Reds. I feel much better.
