RIP

I've sort of watched the first half of this TB/NY game and I like what I'm sort of seeing so far. It's already very apparent that Matt McGloin will be this XFL's Touchdown Tommy Maddox. The Marc Trestman/Aaaron Murray team isn't looking explosive for TB, but I've been told Trestman is, like, really good at offense and stuff.
I would've preferred the league waited a month or so to start. I don't know that I'm hungering for football at this point. I would've liked it to start a couple weeks before the NFL draft or even play it June/July season with 2 weeks of August playoffs in cities with domed stadiums, but I'm sure they've done their research. I also would like to see some team go full Ravens offense. It's something to watch when I'm not doing anything, though.

I don't get it.  Why would Theo and Jed not give Marshall a multi-year contract?  Marshall IS a reliever and you just never know how that market is going to play out.  Besides, relievers are known for being very consistent from year to year so there's really no risk at locking them up for 3 or even 4 years!

if Castro's gonna have to move to 2B eventually, then anybody else think the cubs should see what Rollins would cost for 3 years?  I know he's on the decline, but he still plays pretty good D and can handle the bat better than Barney, Blake, and Baker(the guys he'd basically be replacing...because they'll probably split time at 2B and that's where Castro would go ahead and move...get it?)  I think someone's gonna end up getting a pretty decent deal for Rollins and I see know reason it shouldn't be the cubs.  He wouldn't be blocking anyone and he'd bring a little swagger along with him. 

I also wouldn't mind checking in on Carlos Beltran.  Dejesus could move to LF and Soriano could ride the bench or waive his no trade clause.  Or, shoot, he could even move to 1B.  Surely he can play catch, right?  Of course, I'd prefer Fielder, but I doubt that happens.  The Boston press says the cubs don't have the funds right now and why wouldn't they know everything about a team in Chicago? 

So there ya go...JD's plan---sign Fielder to a 6 year deal and Beltran and Rollins to 3 years.  Then trade Soriano for whatever or something.  All that stands in the way is money and cooperation from a lot of other people. 

The newest kid was sick so I was home this week.  I caught this on the television.  I laughed.  A lot.  It's as stupid as you thought it would be.  I found it to be very funny, too.

Some dude in a league I'm in just traded Eli Manning, Donald Driver, and Mike Tolbert to "the guy in the league that hasn't checked his team since the draft" for Peyton Manning's fivehead.  Then, when everyone called him on the BS trade, he got all butt-hurt aboot it, eh.  I've been in leagues where dudes try the same thing, get called on it, and shrug it like, 'hey it was worth a try'.  This dude was seriously offended and tried to justify the trade.  I've never been privy to a reaction like that.  I'm not takin' crazy pills, am I?  That's a skank trade, right?  This dude's butt-hurtedness has got me questioning my fantasy football common sense.

I got it.  I like it.  It took some gettin' used to, what with the weird numchuck and stuff, but I got it down, now. 

I bought it because I need something to read while I'm eating breakfast.  I think KD did pretty much the whole thing.  Awesome job, KD.  I highly recommend it.

Also, KD, if you're reading, why would Carmelo Anthony want to sign an extension with the Nets if they have to start Jordan Farmar and Kris Humphries beside him?  Yeah, Brook Lopez is good, but Billy King is the GM, also. 

KD's been killin' it on there.  You guys been readin' that?  You been seein' what he's doin'?  It's called domination.  THAT'S what KD's been doin' over there.  The other dude ain't bad, either.  I like him better than that hipster dude that used to be on there.

It's not new, but it was new to me.  And, now, it could be new to you, too.  It won't change your life, but it ain't bad.  And it's got Tim Olyphant in it, which don't suck, brothah.  Temper your expectations and check it oot, eh.

No thread for this yet?  The only part of the movie I can remember is the nude scene.  I promise, once Vince Vaughn ate Trent from Swingers, I didn't think he'd ever do a topless scene.  But he overcame fears about his body and stripped upper-body bare in a bowling alley and we're here to reap the rewards.  Gutsy call, Vince.  You da man!

Anyone else watch this?  It's pretty good.  Lots of shooting stuff and car chases.  Bradley Whitford's pretty funny in it.  I like it.  I'm sure it won't last so catch it while you can!!!!!!!!

This team impresses me every time I see them on ESPN U.  Unfortunately, they're in the lower part of the mid-majors, so there's no chance of them getting an at-large bid if they falter for some reason in their conference tourney.  Or maybe that's not unfortunate.  I don't worry about that, but they're fun to watch and they play "in-your-face" D.  I like 'em.  Consider this their Desipio SPLOOGE.
