OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Boobtube / House Hunters
January 27, 2014, 08:29:55 AM
Anyone else see our very own Desipio member, Todd, on house hunters this month? I couldn't find the link online of the actual video, but it's really great. If anyone is looking to buy a house, Chad has great advice. Especially if you like exposed brick or urban flair exposed HVAC piping.

"Recently engaged, Megan and Todd want to buy their first home before they launch into the time-consuming task of wedding planning. He loves the exposed timber and ducts of Chicago's downtown lofts, but she dreams of living in one of the city's vintage brownstone walk-ups. They also want an open floor-plan, outdoor space, and two parking spots. Which will be harder - agreeing on a style, or finding everything they want with their first-time buyers' budget?"

The Dead Pool / Don't you want somebody to die

Que Huey.

"Jefferson Airplane drummer Joey Covington died in a car crash in Palm Springs, Calif., this week. He was 67.

According to local newspaper the Desert Sun, Covington, who had not been wearing a seat belt, crashed his car into a retaining wall at a curve in the road on Tuesday. The impact reportedly propelled his Honda Civic onto an elevated driveway "several feet above the crash site.""

Boobtube / 30 for 30
October 25, 2012, 09:37:34 AM
The latest 30 for 30 about Benji Wilson was really well done, even interviewing his killer at the end. Conflicting stories about what actually happened, but either way, really sad and disturbing story. He most likely would have lived if he'd been taken to a competent hospital, making it even more sad.

How dare they call out sweetness...

"Back when Payton drove his own RV to Bears training camp, he used to load the rear of the vehicle with tanks of nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas. At nights and during breaks in the action, players sneaked into Payton's trailer, loaded the nitrous oxide into balloons, then carried them around while taking hits. The goofy laughter could be heard throughout the training facility.

Now retired, Payton turned to nitrous oxide more than ever. Large tanks occupied a corner of his garage, and he held a gas-filled balloon throughout portions of the day, taking joyous hits when the impulse struck."

On FX. Right before Louie. Elijah Wood thinks his neighbor's dog is a person wearing a dog costume. Who speaks in an australian accent. And smokes and parties. Odd little show, but I found it quite good. Not sure how long this will remain interesting, but I lol'd multiple times from the first episode.

"The New York Daily News reports: A former Chicago Bulls draft pick and Duke captain jumped to his death Tuesday from the roof of a private athletic club in New York, according to police sources.

Tom Emma, 49, was a 10th-round selection (No. 210 overall) of the Bulls in 1983, when the NBA draft was 10 rounds. Relatives told police that Emma, who ran a company devoted to training young athletes, had been depressed.

"I can't believe it," said Stanford coach Johnny Dawkins, Emma's teammate at Duke. "He was a great guy.""

Alternate title - "Hangtime".

Boobtube / Raising Hope
September 23, 2010, 08:19:44 AM
New show on Fox, pilot was funny. 20 year old guy rescues girl from her boyfriend, who chases her down the street.. she sleeps with him, he finds out she's killed all her ex boyfriends... he turns her in, she ends up pregnant by him. She's electrocuted. He now has to raise the baby. Hijinx.

All the makings for a good dark comedy. Martha Plimpton was great as the kid's grandmother. Cloris Leachman is in this as well. From the guy who did My Name is Earl.

Paperback Writer / I drink for a reason

For anyone that likes David Cross's standup routines, you'll love this book. I was surprised how well his bits translate into a book format.
His rants on Jim Belushi, Fox news, Larry the Cable guy, etc are really well done.

I thought this was a thread discussing how Transformers III is tying up downtown with their on location shoot.

TDubbs says he ran through the set the other day.

Still, Transformers III isn't really a very good reason to wreck a thread for what's supposed to be a pretty good movie.

Since they are filming this movie at the old post office right across the street from Huey's brother and I's building, wanted to start it's own thread. These kids are making SO MUCH NOISE with their explosions and what not. But it's a good excuse to avoid work, watching the cars and Shia run around. The first movie was too unrealistic for me and a bit corny to boot. And the robots should have announced their names more often. Megan Fox should have won an Oscar though. She's terrific. I never saw the 2nd movie.
