OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

We doing this this year? Maybe this is kind of low hanging fruit?

The Dead Pool / I am Deadicus

You brought that title on yourselves. I waited and waited for someone else to post this.

Kirk Douglas was 103. He's also #3 on my Deadpool 2020 list, although I'm suspecting the dead pool is no longer a thing?

Vern Troyer has passed away. Seemed like a general nice guy, well-known for Redditing.

Is this the most underrated, enjoyable flick of the summer?

...no. No it is not.

Say, fellows, this Chapman is pretty good, eh?

Saw this movie last night. I enjoyed it, but I didn't think it was as good as Winter Soldier. The fight scenes were epic, and maybe a little too long. The best fight scene was at the end of the movie -- it felt more intense, and important. (I'm trying to be vague to avoid spoilers.) If you enjoy the Marvel Universe, see the movie. I suspect it'll be way better than X-Men Apocalypse, which I'm watching on Saturday night.

Mom's Basement / MMO's
December 22, 2015, 07:01:45 AM
I suspect I'm the only one here who plays MMOs. Currently my friends and I are playing Dungeons & Dragons Online, which is similar of course to Everquest or World of Warcraft, except it's more of a closed environment with a focus on running through adventures narrated by a "Dungeon Master," similar to what it'd be like if you were actually playing D&D in real life. It's pretty addicting and a lot of fun, although I only have the time/energy to play a couple nights a week because of work/parenthood.

Boobtube / The Misfits and other British TV
April 14, 2010, 05:40:30 PM
Anybody with the means needs to look up a British show called The Misfits.  The concept is that a group of juvenile offenders doing community service are given super powers.  It's like Heroes, but without becoming ridiculously lame.

Also: the girls aren't bad looking.

Another good British show is the In-Betweeners.  Just wanted to mention it.  It's about a dorky kid who moves to a new school, and the tom-foolery that ensues.

Both shows are hilarious and well done.

Mom's Basement / Board/card games

Just wondering what the general consensus is.

Some all-time favorites include Balderdash, Grave Robbers from Outer Space, Bang!, Descent, Munchkin, Lunch Money, and my present favorite -- Arkham Horror.
