Catch and Release is decent.  Timothy Olyphant steals the screen

He also stole my wife's heart thanks to his turn on "Samantha Who?".  Now the wife wants to see "Hitman" or something?  I don't care.  At least I'll get to finish Deadwood now.
Hey, I gotta go where the Blacktion is.

I'm really conflicted on this. I watched the first season over the past few days and absolutely love NPH's character. That said, I'm not sure that his presence can make up for the other two guys who happen to be complete and total pussies. If you were to replace Lisa Kudrow in "Friends" with NPH, you'd just have a less lame version of "Friends."

But now I've committed all of this time and I don't want it to go to waste, so I don't know if I should call it quits or hope that the show gets better (e.g. more Barney in the second and third seasons). See what's happening here? The mere act of watching this show about pussified males and their decisions whether or not to invest more time in their relationships has turned me in to a pussified male that's weighing his own decision to invest more time into this relationship. How fucking meta. I should probably go read TDubbs' four-letter site post and peep some RedTube.

There is an obvious shift at some point to make the other two (Ted and Marshall, especially Ted) less pussieish.  It's an obvious shift in direction that you'll notice.  I believe you'll have to suffer through a few really syrupy episodes, but overall it gets better, and funnier.  I've found more laugh out loud moments on this show then just about any other of recent memory.  Not cutesy funny, but "I need to rewind that because I was laughing so hard" funnny

it's true, the show really hits its stride around the time of the first Robin Sparkles episode, with the Slap bet.

crud, that's around the time I started missing about every episode.

I'd say the show is better than 13 Going on 30, but not as good as Catch and Release

You are one macho motherfucker.  Far be it for anyone to read, write, view or produce any entertainment that depicts a man doing anyting other than fucking the shit out of some bar skank whose name he doesn't know.

Oh, and I haven't seen Catch and Release yet.  Is it any good?

Are you serious?  I watch this show and DVR it every week.  I think it is a great show.  I also, have been known to use sarcasm.

I too have been known to use sarcasm, just not as widely known as you.

I'm still reeling from your four-letter post.  As much as I loved the message, the delivery had some hints of Paul in it. That was you right?

Chill, Al. TDubbs isn't so much macho as he is self-effacing in regards to his taste in movies/television.

All right. I'm glad I stuck with this.

Slap bet + Robin Sparkles was awesome. And this scene had me in stitches:

Quote
Barney: Hey, look at you.
Meg: Hey. I'm wearing your bathrobe. I hope you don't mind.
Barney: The only thing missing from that bathrobe are your initials.
Meg: My mom's gonna be in town next week. Is it okay if she stays with us?
Barney: Only if she sleeps in the bed and I sleep on the couch.
Meg: You're so sweet!
Barney: I love you. There, I said it, and I'm not taking it back.
Meg: Oh my God! I love you, too! I'm finally not the first one to say it!
Barney: How about you get in the shower and I will make us some waffles?

[Barney and Meg kiss, Meg leaves for the shower, Barney picks up his jacket and leaves the apartment, flashback to the present]

Barney: Works every time.

Bump.

Still watching this and it delivered a laugh out loud moment for me:

In search of the perfect burger Barney and the crew sample a few different places and they each heap humorous superlatives on the burgers as they eat.  "This burger is so good..."

Barney: "This burger is so good I want to sew my ass shut."

That line was hilarious. That episode was pointless.

Cobie Smulders' post-baby fat rolls, however, were not so great.

She's finally gotten the baby fat off.

I'm surprised this show is bringing it, since stunt casting is usually sitcom poison.

Jennifer Lopez - amazing ass, still can't act.
