OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

This discussion made me realize the Astros have a shot at the rarest of feats: losing a World Series to both the White Sox and the Cubs.

Remember in 2005, Houston not only took on Katrina refugees, but Hurricane Rita forced Dallas to take on Houston refugees. So they lose World Series to Chicago teams on the heels of major natural disasters?

I wonder what persuaded Verlander to say yes. My guess is someone pointed out the hit his reputation might take if people decided to slander him for turning down Houston in their hour of need or whatever.

The White House is unimpressed.

(Yes, I know it was from 2012.)

Turns out it was the Astros guaranteeing him a full no-trade even though he'd lose his 10-5 rights by changing teams, and guaranteeing his option for 2020 instead of requiring it to vest with a Top 5 In Cy Voting 2019 season. In other words they basically bribed him with 22 million dollars. I'd have said yes too, Justin.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015
