I'm a stress eater, and the last two weeks have been very challenging.

I don't care about Atlanta losing the SuperBowl, but I hate that Boston won.

Stew, this thread is for stuff you feel ashamed to admit, not stuff we all agree on.

I am in this Fantasy Baseball League that a college friend got me involved in. There are 14 people across the country in it, and it's pretty competitive. Anyway, they draft was today, but earlier this week we did a "drip draft." After everyone designated their up to 7 keepers, those with fewer than seven started drafting until they each had seven players. It happened quickly so we decided to keep dripping, that is, let players select their players in advance of the draft, just to keep things moving. You'd have unlimited time with the drip draft, so my first non-keeper pick came up, and I saw that Willson Contreras was available. After looking at my needs and what was available, I started contemplating drafting Willson. Unfortunately, I didn't make my pick right away. I got tied up at work, so a couple of hours later I went in to make my pick -- in haste -- and drafted another W.C. who caught for the Cubs: Beef Welington. Somone picked up Contreras four picks later.I didn't notice it until the end of the draft today.

To add insult to injury, Yadier Molina is now my first-string catcher.

So you're the fantasy equivalent of Hawk Harrelson's storied stint as GM.

I had the dream again last night.  The one where I am back in school and I am taking a final exam in
a course where I hadn't attended class or read the text book, or couldn't get to the room where the test was being given.  Except that this time it wasn't an exam, it was turning in my term paper.  It was a week before it was due.  Not only had I not started it, I didn't know what the topic was and I was discussing the assignment with the professor trying to get as much information from him as I could without revealing what a screw-up I was.  Why won't this dream leave me alone?  I was an undergraduate 60 years ago.  I never missed an assignment or a test.  I did rather well in college.  Why am I being haunted?  Why can't I go back to those great dreams where I am able to fly?

I just forwarded this to my kids.

Mrs. flannj just read this and she actually physically cringed. She has the same dream about her Musicology graduate classes.

Up until two days ago, it never even occurred to me that Marcus Thames and Eric Thames were not the same person.

Yeah, she has her masters in musicology (MM ?) from what used to be called the Chicago Musical College. It is a part of Roosevelt University.

She used to be a piano instructor as well.
I would come home from work and lie on the couch and listen to her play Mozart or Beethoven or Chopin or Bach or you name it almost every afternoon.
Our first house didn't have any air conditioning so the windows were always open.
The neighbors eventually told us they would walk by on purpose just to hear her play.

We have 3 pianos. Would you like to buy one?

Her father was a jazz trumpeter from South Philadelphia. Started playing as a young boy, Army band and all through his life. But mrs. flannj while loving jazz can't play it
