I want to do the one where I pick a guy that should die this year and I get a point for it.
Although I didn't do so hot this year.

I could set up a dedicated email address for submissions, though, and you all could just trust my pinkie swear that I wouldn't peek at them until I've posted my own picks.

I like this idea. The unveiling of all the picks would be like Christmas morning or the day when the AV Club reveals the worst band names of the year.

I'm salivating for this day.

Along with that, I want in on this pool and I'm with Doctor v.F. Let's not do a draft. It's already December and it would take ages. The email submissions idea is also pretty solid.

Well, if we're not drafting and if we're allowed to just keep picking Keith Richards until he dies, then at the very least I would support the "emailing Thrill to his personal creepy email address" rule.
I can't believe I even know these people. I'm ashamed of my internet life.

Picking Keef is bad luck.

So long as anyone expects him to die, he shall live.
I think he's more of the appendix of Desipio.  Yeah, it's here and you're vaguely aware of it, but only if reminded.  The only time anyone notices it is when it ruptures (on Weebs in the video game thread).  Beyond that, though, it's basically useless and offers no redeeming value.

That's kinda what I was getting at in suggesting that each person's list be "fresh kills" each year.

But, I wil bow to the desires of the masses

Anyone looking to get in on this, PM me for the personal creepy email address.

Also: have we decided on rules yet?

For 2009 we've scored like this:

a) Rank your picks 1-10 and be awarded points by ranking (10 points for #1, down to 1 point for #10)
b) Add one bonus point for each decade under 90

I'm suggesting the following for 2010:

a) Rank your picks 1-10 and be awarded points by ranking
b) Add one bonus point for each decade under 90
c) Deduct one penalty point for each person other than yourself who picked the same person
d) Each correct pick would be guaranteed a minimum of 1 point, regardless of deductions

Any dissenters?
