Any black and white screencap from a Peter Graves movie that isn't "Beginning of the End" doesn't deserve to be linked.

Peter Graves, Beverly Garland, AND Lee Van Cleef. How can you not include  "It Conquered the World"?

He learned, almost too late, that man is a feeling creature and, because of it, the greatest in the universe. He learned, too late for himself, that men have to make their own way, to make their own mistakes. There can't be any gift of perfection from outside ourselves. And, when men seek such perfection, they find there's only death, fire, loss, disillusionment, the end of everything that's gone forward. Men have always sought an end to toil and misery. It can't be given; it has to be achieved. There is hope, but it has to come from inside, from man himself.

These youngsters with their Heavy Metal Fridays would serve themselves well to have the occasional Frank Zappa Friday.

Today is Marvin Gaye Tuesday, but if you really want me to, I'll dust off One Size Fits All, Läther, We're Only In it For the Money, and maybe one of the YCDTOSA sets for Friday, old man.

By the way, I never liked that Zappa takes a swipe at Beverly Garland's character for twisting her ankle. Unlike a lot of women in 50s B-movies, she went down shooting and cursing that giant space pickle all the way.

I would play more Zappa here at work but the guy behind me is a savant and can name the year and date for any tiny snippet of a song he hears. Zappa is in his wheelhouse. Then I'd have to sit through 20 minutes of him telling me every detail of how/when/why the album was recorded along with the biographies of all the musicians that played on it.

Pass.
