OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

George Jones and Merle Haggard are still on this side of the grass.

The only country music I'll listen to is Neko Case and that's not even really country. My friend's brother is Jamey Johnson. He makes respectable country music but I won't listen to it. It just doesn't do anything for me.

Jamey Johnson is more like Merle, in terms of writing, than he is most crap out today.
At least he drinks and writes songs about being a letdown.
Stuff that country songs should be about.

Country music died the day Johnny Cash stopped taking speed.

I don't know about that. The "American" albums were generally soul-stirring, bone-chilling good country songs.

I didn't notice this the last time around. I was fucking around.

Riotfest this year looks awesome.

You know it's good when Built to Spill is that far down on the list. Wow.

As long as they don't do something stupid like make them the second act at The Congress on Friday.

This lineup blows away Lolla and Pitchfork put together.

The problem with so many good bands is that someone has to play those slots though, going to be hard to avoid..

If I can see half the awesome bands outside, I'll be all right with that.  Especially if Elvis Costello is the Friday headliner.

I saw the Avett Brothers on Wed night -- outstanding performance. Hopefully will be getting tickets to their show in Toronto at the end of the summer. Unintentional highlight of the night: the couple sitting behind us who very obviously bought the tickets months ago, before they'd broken up, who were arguing about their failed relationship. To add insult to their injury, it turned out that their tickets were actually to the previous night's performance, and they got booted from their seats during Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promises.

Carter USM are back together and touring, and they've just announced the support for their Brixton Academy gig in November: Ned's Atomic Dustbin.  I saw Carter once before at the Academy, years and years ago, supported by Inspiral Carpets but this might be even better.  Who's up for it?  I can get accommodation in London for anybody that wants it...

I don't know (nor really care) if The Dropkick Murphys are a Desipio-approved group (even if they once were), but have any of you seen them live? They are going to be at a venue in Champaign called the Canopy Club. I saw Yonder Mountain there earlier this year and it was a fantastic venue... Based on that, I saw go, but are they worth the $32.50 price (more likely $45 after fees/taxes)?

I saw them like a decade ago. I seem to recall enjoying myself. In spite of the skinhead who tried to punch me in the nuts.

But, really... $45? Think of how many ringtones you could listen to at home for that money.
Loor and I came acrossks like opatoets.
