DPD. I've been out of it for a decade, so can someone update me on the playoff-seeding rules? Do division winners automatically get a top-3 seed or can they get bumped down by teams with better records?

Division winners plus the one best non-division winners get seeded 1-4, by order of record.
So a division winner is guaranteed a top 4 seed, but not necessarily a top 3 seed if there is a better non-division winner.

Then 5-8 are the next best teams in order of record.

D'Antoni resigns.

Too much talent on that roster for them to play so poorly and listlessly. Whoever replaces him will need to find a way to toughen up this bunch.

Or assassinate Carmelo Anthony. Whatever works.

I'd appreciate both.

It's a good thing you switched teams. Those Knicks are a mess. The report said the split was mutual which makes sense. D'Antoni couldn't win there, ever.

Then again, I don't think anyone can win there. Should be interesting to see what Woodson does to them - he's got his faults but he's not a total boob.

Yeah, he's a Purdue guy and I really enjoy him on the NFL... wait....

Anytime you have Carmelo and A'mare on a team, you should definitely tailor your offense to make sure that Jeremy Lin gets the most shots.

Also, now matter how bad this was, I'm still shocked he quit.  I don't know how this contract and resignation are structured, but that's a boatload of money to walk away from, no matter what the philosophical differences are.

It'll be interesting to see if D'Antoni ends up coaching overseas (or coaching U.S. teams to compete internationally) or at some small college that all of a sudden starts throwing up 130 ppg.

And by "interesting" I mean that in the Gil-est sense of the word.

Dwight says he's going to opt-in for next year.. what a complete assclown. If i were orlando i'd trade him just to get this constant headache off my team. And who knows if he'll actually sign anything saying he'll stay, still plenty of time for him to screw orlando over.
