Because I somehow missed the news that Fatty finally got his ass cut: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/01/bears-cut-frank-omiyale/. So long, Frank. Hopefully Emery will be better than Angelo if only in that his stupid pride won't force him to constantly give opportunities to shitty players in order to justify the money he spent on them. I honestly can't remember a more useless free agent signing in Bears history.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

Curious pick, seeing as how he was merely signed as a backup and then led the Bears to their only playoff appearance in the Wannstedt Era.

You could have gone with:

Heyward, Craig
Blaylock, Anthony
Cox, Bryan
Timpson, Michael
Quinn, Jonathan
Williams, Roy

Or a host of others...those are only off the top of my head.
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Yeah, it's certainly debateable, but I really don't think the guy who, sadly, has one of the top five career passer ratings in Bears History (f*&k) enters the picture. I'd argue Omiyale just because Angelo sank so much money into him and continued to risk games and the health of his franchise quarterback by constantly forcing him into the lineup. Hell, you could argue they'd have won the first game in Detroit this year if they'd moved Louis to RT and played Eddie Williams at guard rather than try and throw Frank against the best D-Line in football.

Orlando made it 9 games before he shuffled off. Frank was a three year plague. Also, Orlando undoubtedly sucked, but some of the suck attributed to him was actually the gaping suck from the left guard right next to him. That guy? Frank Omiyale.

I'm pretty sure that's still Frank. He wasn't less worthless than Orlando, he was just younger with a longer contract and Jerry needed to justify his briliant find.

Stop arguing with SKO on this. This thread, like Frank, needs to be purged from our souls. Nothing good can come from belaboring this point and bringing up more useless turds of any era.

Moving on...

I will give this to Jerry, I'm pretty sure he won on the whole Forte thing. He made him a fair offer last offseason (I don't care what anyone said, 14 million guaranteed is nothing to bitch about), Forte gambled, he lost, and now Forte has to accept the tag without much leverage. Savvy.

I've never wanted them to "Pay Forte" because he's a running back and he's been overworked. Then again it's not my money and if the Bears aren't going to spend to the cap anyway, who gives a shit.

I feel like him getting Franchised means he got his fucking money. Yay for him. Now get out of the way so the team can sign some WRs and OLs. #savejaycutler

I don't think, 1-year, $7.7 million was exactly what he had in mind in terms of getting paid.

Forte can join the long list of players who learn that "the franchise tag is all well and good until it actually gets used on me."
