I mean, regardless of what happens with Heyward's offense, or his contract, do the Cubs win the 2016 World Series without him?

Yeah, probably.

Literally nobody knows.

I mean butterfly effect and all so who knows but I don't think "they couldn't have done it without him!" is a very strong argument. They very well might've. Heck, in the fantasy land where they don't sign Heyward I have now signed Cespedes and extended Fowler for CF long term. The Cubs don't struggle against Josh Tomlin in game 3 and the series doesn't even go seven games.

Point is, winning the world series keeps us from asking "but what could they have done if Jason Heyward wasn't a total bust?", which is nice, but it's still on him to not be a total bust, title or not.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

I'd like to find out if they can win it with him being a total stud. Several times.

After having watched Reign Men last night, I  am once again reminded of why Heyward makes me think of Andre Dawson. If only he could hit like Dawson!

I don't know if he's going to work out his swing or be a total bust, but I am VERY hopeful that he will work out the kinks. He really seems like a great guy.

Do you see some kind of resemblance, perhaps?

Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Same stellar outfield defense, and I think they have the same body type (small waistline, large shoulders -- kind of like a carrot).

Dude was robbed, should have been 5-5 today. Either way he is hitting the ball with authority in the air. Very encouraging

He's also not pulling everything. He almost his one out to straightaway center, and Braun suddenly figured out how to field on one that might have been a double.

No.  But he uses protection.
