OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

The Dead Pool / Permanently West of the Sun
April 09, 2012, 12:38:43 AM
Jerry "Boogie" McCain.

Steve Cushing devoted the fourth hour of yesterday's show to a retrospective. It's available on the Blues before Sunrise distribution site, if anyone's interested. Use 'ftp38794484-1' and 'hardbark' as credentials if so. It's a mixed bag, including a skipping CD, but only sporadically tedious.

Unless this thing performs gymnastics befitting Yetti's ultimate miniature Balkan bride in the last third, I'm willing to proclaim it the worst film I've seen since Natural Born Killers.

[Edit.--Now, if Flynn would have actually called for "Code Grape Nuts" just shy of the 1 hour mark, this whole thing could have at least attempted tacking in a more salient direction.]

[Edit 2.--Here's a fucking hint, genetico-epidemiological poseurs: Male-female siblings don't just team up to grow pairs of uppy-slanty noses that bear no resemblance to those of their parents. CNS agents do not hide in giant blobs around the corner only to manifest as impenetrable fog once their lair has been disturbed.]

[Edit 3.--Listen, sassy, somebody's gone to the trouble of push-starting the car and being immolated as a result. Turn on the wipers already, as the ending in which you unknowingly plow into a concrete pile to wrap things up is already looking like an improvement.]

[Edit 4.--I am going to feel dirty in the morning. Now, that can't be an IR scope, because you're looking at months-old corpses in a long-abandoned subway station. On the other hand, it can't be a low-light scope, because you're also in pitch darkness. Maybe it's just fucking magic created by incessant shrieking.]

[Edit 5.--In other news, month-old radios left over from helicopter crashes pick up random AM signals, as a prelude to a zombie-themed riff on Last Tango in Paris. I have found this entire experience very dispiriting.]

Boobtube / Blossom

Oh, look, Dr. Blossom is a Mommy Menace. Maybe TBBT can do a vaccine episode. "The Secret Hepatitis B of the American Teenager" is a thought.

QuoteJustMommies: Do you do no vaccinations, or do you select specific ones with your doctor?

Mayim Bialik: We have not vaccinated, but some people do selective vaccination. There is a recommended modified schedule that Dr. Sears has been recommending.

Still holds up after more than 35 years. Probable locus classicus of the wire dilemma. Repeatedly takes swipes at the Irish. Pay it a visit.

And here shall I stake my claim: Lime zest fried dark in salted oil that has been used to make carnitas. I may try a production run before Shitty's and arrive with a paper bagful.

I AM THE THEIF AND G-D'S TEMPLE IS THE TOMB OF GOLD!

With Adrienne Barbeau! Someone reminiscent of Aunt Bee!

You might try to disavow it, Carpenter, but you're not going to get off that easily.

"Soeur Sourire" holds a most noticeable position in the Drake-Chenault Time Sweep.  I somehow seem to mave missed the follow-up so far.

(The original speaks for itself.)

What is wrong with you?

That's rhetorical, right? Right?

This is actually very important, up to the "You Light Up My Life" boundary.

Larry Smith. (And, yes, I feel sullied merely for linking to them.) I seem to recall his having an unfortunately lax attitude regarding female vocalists, but I do put on the Julius Hemphill Sextet now and again.
