I'm surprised, but not shocked, to read this.

OK A-holes. It's fixed. Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them. I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

But he missed at least four or five passes yesterday that were under thrown, overthrown or behind his target. Wasn't very encouraging.
I don't know how you legitimately evaluate Trubisky with that supporting cast. That's the worst set of receivers I've ever seen, and the Bears have put out some really fucking shitty receiving groups. I'd rather see Knox and Hester back out there. Trubisky could suck, he could be good, I'm not drawing any conclusions until he has actual players around him.
Very unhappy that Paced is allowing this coaching staff to try to teach this kid given they all may be out in 9 weeks. Still think they should have fired Fox before the year started or extended him so the coaching staff could focus on development and not on wins.
How many throws did they let him make the last two weeks before Sunday, 16 and 7 I think? Kid can't even get into a rhythm. I've definitely seen enough to be cautiously optimistic on the Trubisky Train.
He's caught in the absolute worst possible offense for a rookie QB. The talent around him is terrible and the coaching staff thinks "protecting" a young QB means throwing only on 3rd and long or limiting the number of attempts. Honestly they should throw early and often with an emphasis on spreading the field and getting him easily completions, letting him get into a rhythm. They're incredibly bland and boring and when you are asking a QB to pass only when the defense is expecting a pass you're really fucking him over. I think they only use Tarik Cohen as a receiver out of one or two formations, they never split him out wide, etc. It's like Mike Tice is back.

Per Flight Aware, plane still on the ground. Per Google it departed at 10:11 MDT.
They aren't on a charter like Signature? Flying United?
Not sure who owns or crews it (my guess its United), but its a dedicated Cubs jet flying United livery (note the flight schedule http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL2504#flightPageActivityLog)
What is interesting is that American signed a big sponsorship deal with the Cubs, and you would think they would be flying the team.
American canceled charter agreements with six NFL teams this season due to lack of available aircraft. Maintaining availability for an MLB team and its extremely demanding travel needs is, I imagine, quite a bit more difficult.

Lackey was pretty good his last few starts. I say give the man a few innings in Saturday

That's twice that idiot's completely shit himself this series and fucked the team. IF the Cubs can pull it off tomorrow, good luck Carl on seeing meaningful baseball the rest of this year.

Here's the thing...Since Cardinals baseball is "the right way" (aka traditional thinking), wouldn't it go to figure the way to approach the Cubs is to not let Bryant or Rizzo beat you? So by Rizzo getting hit by a pitch, which is tantamount to an intentional walk, he's actually doing the Cardinals a favor.

DPD but man what a damn shame Grady Sizemore's career was. Averaged 6.2 bWAR in his four full seasons through age 25, then played just 419 more games the rest of his career.
Get this negativity the fuck out of the Kris Bryant thread. Why aren't you appreciating him more, you jerk? This is the thread where we appreciate him, not jinx him by bringing up failures. Someone should have told you.
Kris Bryant is what Grady Sizemore should have been. If he played 3rd. And was made of steel.

*Injects methadone*
Pretty sure I've been the last one on the Jen-Ho Tseng bandwagon since like 2 years ago, but he's still making some waves out there.
In his second start since being promoted to Iowa (still only 22 years old) he's currently at 7 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 K.
The concern has been in the lack of Ks, but he's up to over 8 K/9, which is the highest of his career.
Kid has a chance.
Like that has ever stopped me before.

Leonys will be used like Dave Roberts to eliminate Dave Roberts.
This is funny but in all seriousness the more I think about it the more I think this is the possibility. Since there's no other playing screaming to fill the 25th spot they well could put Martin on for some Herb Washington situations. I mean, granted, Rene Rivera would've score on Avila's hit last night, but the fact is Martin got his ass right into scoring position with the winning run after coming in to pinch-run for Rizzo.

On a semi-related note, former Bears DE Israel Idonije auditioned today (in Chicago) for a commercial we're shooting next week.
I don't think he's right for this specific part, but he has some acting chops.
In case anyone was wondering what he was up to these days.

For the people out there who prefer cider, Stella Artois just might be the very best.
*blink*
Yeah. I wrote a post some time ago pooh-poohing this but it got lost and I couldn't be arsed to go back and write it again. I understand that this is entirely a matter of taste and as such, completely subjective... but anyone who thinks that Stella Artois cider is the very best really needs to try more ciders. It's fine. Good, even. But the very best? Nope.
I thought cider was for the gheys and such.
It was for a while until the Gluten-Frees got a hold of it and took it mainstream.
Cider is acceptable again in many circles.
Not mine, but others.
I love a good, dry cider every once in a while and I don't give a shit what you fuckers call me because of it.
Sweet ciders are for those who miss the halcyon days Bartles and James.
Well fuck you very much too.
