OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

BUMP

The catcher's reaction makes it all worthwhile.

I thought the fact that it tied the game for the Cubs was worthwhile. If it had barely cleared the fence aided by a 40 mph gale force wind and the catcher said "ser, I daresay ser that home run was in no way honorable and I am not impressed in the slightest" I would have still deemed it worthwhile.

Nope, the catcher's reaction was the only enjoyable or important part of the entire moment.

Just a couple ideas for next year I wanted to float out there:

1. It a lot to have guys for both saves and holds within the current roster set-up.  There is an option for a SV+H category - anyone up for switching to this?
2. Would love to replace Wins with Quality Starts.

Let me know thoughts or objections.

I never said they sucked, just that it was a pattern. And ty Shooter for backing me up on that. they're league-avg in high leverage situations, not some juggernaut as I figured.

Good thing today wasn't a one-run game then.

Why can't Lester throw a shutout, Rizzo hit two homers and Bryant and Ross knock in a couple runs each in close games?

Those jerks seem to save that for the blowouts.

EDIT: just to make myself clear, because so far nobody seems to be smelling what I'm cooking... yeah, West was kind of a prick about it, but the reaction on social media was way over the top.  That's it.

Watch who you're badmouthing, buddy.

Wasn't the ball also juiced in '87, when Andre Dawson forever captured our hearts?

I always considered this to be the prosecution's key piece of evidence in that case.

Former Cubs prospect Dan Vogelbach is coming up to the Mariners now that his Triple-A season is over. He's expected to play right away because Adam Lind recently sprained a finger.

Maybe you could start a new thread to talk about guys not on the Cubs anymore?

I'm sitting behind a lady from Tokyo in a meeting today at work.

She's wearing this and I'm so confused.

In case y'all haven't seen...

Chesny Young won the batting title in the Southern league this year at .303.
He also won the batting title in the Eastern League last year.

Whether or not he ever makes the bigs (somewhat likely, though maybe not with the Cubs) it's a pretty cool feat.

Casa Nova is at your complete disposal.

Whoa, just snuck in there under the CTA bar, huh?

Cheers, old friend.  You're on the list and, subject to the forthcoming lottery, could well the lucky recipient of a visit from me!  What a time to be alive, eh?

The L is a half block from my house, man.

For someone beseeching the benevolence & hospitality of his Internet friends, Tonker sure is rather shot-cally.

So all of a sudden I'm supposed to be all nice, and friendly, and kind and shit, just because I want something?  You guys would smell that a fucking mile away.

We just figured after two world wars, you'd be happy with any American assistance.

Except for your comparison to be valid you'd need to be charging me huge amounts to let me stay.

You'll at least help me change the batteries in my smoke detectors.

I can also use some help changing smoke detector batteries...

I'm pretty sure it's needless to say but you (Tonker not Fork) are more than welcome on my couch or air mattress.  Strangley, I'm pretty sure Fork is much more convenient for the L but I do live around the corner from Rosa's.  And, when the Cubs make it to the WS, I'm pretty sure no one is going to be expecting me at work anyway.

Let's wait and see if your accommodations are up to King Tonker's exacting standards.  If you're lucky, you'll make the cut.

Also, if you could buy a car seat for Tonk as well, that would be great.

QPD! Santa Clara cops threaten to stop doing their jobs due to uppity athlete-induced butthurt.

I swaw this in the British press this morning.  Fuck Santa Clara cops.

Mind you, if Santa Clara cops stop doing their jobs, at least black people will be able to go about their daily business without fear of being gunned down in the street.

There are black people in Santa Clara?

Yes, Colin Kaepernick.

Try to keep up.

Per Wiki, Santa Clara is a whopping 0.5% black.  For comparison's sake, Naperville, IL's black population comprises 2.7% of their total population.

So you can basically count the black population of Santa Clara by hand.

With a population of 120,245 (2013 Census) that means you can count up to 601 on your hand, Alfonseca.

12 more years on the Cubs and he might become my all-time favorite.
