OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Well, even better was the ingenuity of the guys who ordered 25 beers at last call and had them lined up on the last row of the bleachers the final 3 innings. You just needed to know where to look, flannj. (Of course one of the brownshirts came up and demanded we get rid of the beer with 1 out in the 9th. We happily obliged.)

D'ur... How could I have missed a hue so simultaneously obvious and awesome?

I might also add: columbia blue and maya blue

The Jays wear their power blues for every Friday home game.

The only good thing to come of it are the hats:

Which I like so much, I was inspired to buy ...

Huh?

Guess I'll add "no thread drift allowed" to my list?

I like the old Blue Jays hats, too, although I liked the old road hats better:

(Don't ask me why).

I also like the button-down version of that uni, in which the logo is slightly to the right. If they did it in powder blue, it would have been steak sauce on a non-acousticophobic roof.

But I digress. The unis remind me of the 1985-era Blue Jays, who would have destroyed the Tards in the World Series if they didn't choke.

The woman with the battered headphones looks a little confused, too. Of course I had started the evening right by answering her question of who Jim Essian was by giving a recap of the 1991 Cubs season.

The look on Mrs. TJs face is Morton's bone-in ribeye in a peppercorn congnac reduction sauce.

I get that look a lot. Hey, what's Jeff Samardzija doing on the roof (behind the woman in the Cubs jersey and headphones)?

Front Row: Three random women who live in their condominium for a living. Second row (from left): Morpheus, Oleg, TDubbs; Third Row (from left): Bad Kermit, flannj, TEC, A guy whose hat and glasses are the only things visible, Irish Yeti, T.J. Brown, Banana Hands; Third Row: Chuck Dickens' girlfriend, Chuck Dickens, the left side of Pre's head, Thrillho/Cornfed, Butthead, Forklift, Mike D., Andy Dolan, thehawk.

Not pictured: Chuck-to-Chuck and Mrs. Chuck-to-Chuck; Slaky and his girlfriend; Andy's father who probably disowned Andy after meeting this crowd; Mrs. T.J., who is a 3-1 shot to return home today from work now that she met this group; Saint Mrs. Fork, who did vow not to attend a Blackhawks-Red Wings rooftop on New Year's; Mrs. Butthead; Weebs (out on the curb at 1050 W. Waveland).

I took the liberty of posting a recap at HJE.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we have 34 people going, and cubbiebluestew and wife are what's keeping us from an even three dozen?

And WHY ISN'T CT going? I demand answers.

It's assumed.

Guthrie's?
Cullen's?
D'Agostino's?

OK, we're 7 days away. What building are we in, are we just on a guest list or do we have actual tickets, what time can we show up, and what do we need to know?

TJ, I'm glad you asked. Let me answer your questions one by one...

1) Brixen Ivy, 1044 W. Waveland

2) There is a guest list. I have everyone's real names, and they will be at the door.

3) 6:35 is when they start letting us in.

4) We're DOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!ed.

Excellent. Now, who wants to meet somewhere several blocks from the ballpark for pregame around 5:30?

Yesterday would have been a 15-12 game if you had the 2000 Cubs staff. Marquis didn't have great stuff, but he lasted 6 innings. He's strung together some decent starts. He might have some value yet.  The next couple days could be, um, interesting.

Phil would have made a little bit of sense if he'd mentioned that Scott Baker and Nick Blackburn have mitigated the loss of Santana somewhat and that the Twins have an assload of young outfielders who don't suck as badly as Jock Jones. But their pen is in dire straits.
