OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Bump.

All three "contending" teams lose again tonight.  I feel no anxiety about this divisional race.  It's fucking hilarious that none of these teams can get out of their own way.

I'm proud to note that I predicted a month ago the Cubs would back into this thing and win the Central.....with a .500 record. Prescient, I am, or something.

We're still a long way from finishing 2 over... or 5 under.

You'd be prescient if the season ended today--but it doesn't.  Bust out the Barry Horowitz pat on the back on October 1 if you must.

Tomorrow (today, Saturday, whatever) is the season, IMO. Zambrano is behind the 8-ball. Does he step up, break out of his funk, put the team on his big back and break out the whipping stick? A winning team and a dominant ace would do just that against a sad-sack team like Pissburg. Or, does Z crawl back into his ugly alter ego and poop all over the rest of the season? Big big game.

Maroth, Mulder, Reyes and Kip Fucking Wells? Two converted relievers in Looper and Wainwright? A DFA in Piniero? How does BC sleep at night?

Cards had their unexplainable run, they'll fade. Badly.

Bumping the thread to introduce the Atlanta Thrashers' "Blue Crew."

http://thrashers.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NHLPage&id=13661

A possible cure for anything blue that you might have.

I positive ice sluts.

I can't imagine why that would be:

That reminds me - I need to go to Home Depot and pick up some shovels and hoes.

I would do so many dirty things to that blonde on the far left.

If you look closely, you can see the Asian chick to the right getting a little forearm-boob action. Nice.

You're strangely picky. All four of those girls are hot hot hot with rock hard bods. When the thirsty man is offered an ice cooler with four different brands of quality beer, he does not waste time in selecting one. He grabs the first one he can get his hands on and drinks from that manna, brutha.

{But if I had to pick, I dig the brunette in the center}

Also, as a supplement to Marmol, I'm still holding out hope for Wood.  I just don't trust Howry.

Said it a million times--the deal with Howry is that he's one of those odd guys that pitches BETTER when he's used frequently. When he gets infrequent work, he sucks. When did Howry pitch his best this year? Answer--when Dempster was out.

Another reliever with an odd usage pattern is Mike Wuertz. When he starts an inning fresh, he stinks. But when he comes in with men on base, he's money (2nd best pctg for not letting inherited runners score in the NL....behind the Marmot).

Will F. Ohman is an oddball, too. If he's used in a major league baseball game, he sucks.

Kerry Wood, I dunno, love the guy like everyone else, but he strikes me as more of a circus curiosity than anything else. Bit player.

Agreed.

He was downright sick in the 8th.

In the 9th, the banjo player at second base should have turned two, but instead played the ball to the side like a scared little leaguer.  It didn't faze the Marmot, who got the next two hitters to escape the jam he hardly created.

But isn't there already a Marmot Sploogey somewhere around here?

Probably. But we don't play "bandwidth is sacred" bullshit games here. I was too lazy to do a search, so sue me. The Marmot is so good, he deserves multiple splooges in any event.

The Age of The Marmot gets a big 'ole positive from PPE.

This kid fits right in with the Cubs. He's borderline retarded, a stoner, and a teenage millionaire. He'll be banging hot-ass blondes for years after he washes out of the Cubs system. That's $10MM well-spent!

I'm sure I'm in the minority since I don't know the answer to this question, but what time do the gates open at Wrigley before a night game?  Is it 2 hours before?  If someone could help me out, I'd appreciate it.  Not enough to do anything for you, of course.  But I'd be appreciative.

I'm sure Big Gay Al can help you out. {But I believe for a 7PM start, they do open at 5}

Ryan Braun is an atrocious fielder, maybe the worst 3B in the league. But geezus, can this kid hit. If the Brewers were smart--though they'd never do this--they should trade him this winter with his sky-high value right now to an AL team where he can DH for years. He has "David Ortiz Success" written all over him. Brewers could get a king's ransom for the kid--Santana from Minnesota? Here's an interesting one--if the Yankees lose A-Rod this offseason (preferably to us), they could send Philip Hughes and Joba Chamberlain to Milwaukee for Braun. How frightening would Milwaukee's pitching look with Sheets, Gallardo, Hughes and Chamberlain for the next five years? Yow.

Yes, I'm rambling, but I have serious Ryan Braun Envy, we don't see young hitters this good hit the big leagues every year.

If no one has looked lately, btw, here were Braun's stats going into play today--note he didn't hit the big leagues until late May, so he only has 63 games played and 256 ABs:

BA - 348, OBP - 391, SLG - 652, OPS - 1044, HR - 19, RBI - 52, Hits - 89, SB - 10, Runs - 50.

Umm.....that's awfully damn good. MVP numbers if stretched out to a full season.

I guess my new self-awareness could have been caused by the fact that I may very well be offered a job in the next few days. I interviewed for it yesterday and I got the impression I would've been offered on the spot except for the fact they already had someone else to interview either today or on Monday. I guess that means I have to survive one person. Anyway, I would be working for crumbs of month-old bread (Well, just under $21K, so the bread I guess could be only three weeks old), but I would get to do a daily radio show and also do high school play-by-play. And that's only what I've been wanting to do for the last eight-plus years.

Well, the play-by-play anyway. Not so sure about the high school thing, but that's where everyone gets their start, right?

BC's Self-deprecating posts = Will Ohman's recent 16 game stretch with a 1.59 ERA and a WHIP under 1.00.
This post = yesterday's Will Ohman appearance, confirming what we all knew

That you're in love with Will Ohman and it breaks your heart?

Baseball has goats
Star players, expectations
But a LOOGY?

Sweet. During a recent porn web surfing marathon, I discovered there is a real niche fetish out there of guys that get off on women that piss their pants. Who knew? I think this gal in the jeans here would be quite the poster shot for this crowd.

Everybody hates their 5th starter.

But not everybody gives them three-year, $21 million contracts.

I'm sorry, did you have to write that check? You did? Damn, sucks to be you.
