OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

"I saw you handing out sheckles.  How does somebody go about getting on that train?"

"Why do they call him The Bus?"
"Because he's afraid to fly."

"I hope that's urine."

Michael actually gave us a subliminal "That's what she said," last night, when Jan said, "I can't stay on top of you 24/7, Michael."  He just looked at the camera and tried to not physically say it.

"She took the slow train from Philadelphia."

"Ain't no party like a Scranton party!"

"I love inside jokes.  I'd love to be in one of those some day."

What I know about this season is boiling down to a Stamford-Scranton merger, or at the very least the closing of the Stamford branch altogether.  Steve Carrell talked about how during the season Andy (Ed Helms) and Michael "get along famously."  It's also been written that Helms and Rashida Jones (the one who sits behind Jim in Stamford) have been signed for the entire season, and that at some point, Jim and Rashida (I forget what her character's name is) will date.  I like how the show throws in little things to make us realize that for all of his weird and awkward mannerisms, Michael's actually a pretty good salesman.  He closed the account with the count last year at Chili's and apparently last night he and some mid-level Hammermill guy pounded out an agreement to let Dunder Mifflin sell their paper.  If I had to guess, I'd say the Scranton branch costs less to run than the Stamford one does, and probably has a bigger share of a smaller market, leading to Dunder closing Stamford and sending some of those employees out to other branches.  Just a guess, though.

Sarah Paulson's lisp is getting on my nerves.

"Well, sir, I cannot promise that Dunder Mifflin paper is less flammable than other paper, but I can assure you that it's not more flammable."

Stanley's rant about the toaster was classic.

The look on Dwight's face when Michael asked if he could imagine Angela with another woman was great.

I made the mistake of going to www.officetally.com this morning to see how people liked the episode.  There are always a few who have to be contrarian and said it was "awful" or "terrible."  But honestly, last night's was one of the best, ever.

It seems obvious that the chaos in Scranton was supposed to show how without Jim there to act as some sort of voice of reason (never directly to Michael, always to other employees but with Michael watching) that there's nothing to save Michael from himself.  It's also entirely possible that Jim has no idea Pam's not married.  He would have transferred to Stamford before the wedding and she said she called it off just days before it was supposed to happen.  The other Scranton employees could just assume Jim knows so nobody's e-mailed or called to tell him that.  Apparently next week there's a paper convention and Michael, Dwight, Jim and Ed Helms all meet up at the convention.  The description of the episode makes it seem like that's when Jim finds out about Pam.

Ed Helms is great.  "Hey Big Tuna, you're single, right?  What do you think of her?  Pretty hot, yeah?  She's cuh-razy!"

I liked the girl who sits behind Jim in Stamford with her, "What's with the new guy?  He's always making these weird faces to the camera?  What's that about?"

Excellent start to the season.

I was psyched because I always enjoy a good look at Amanda Peet, and I'm a big fan of Sarah Paulson.  Then I found out that Paulson's a dyke.

So that was distressing.

But her girlfriend is hot.

So I just rallied!  Whoo hoo!

I thought the first one was solid.  I like how Matthew Perry is playing a guy addicted to pain killers.  How many eps before we get the obligatory Josh Malina sighting?  I was honestly shocked that he didn't appear in the pilot.

Can't wait.  The season starts now, so it's September and we're three months past the Roy-Pam wedding date.  So it's obvious that those two called it off because how could you miss out on a chance to do an episode of Michael and Dwight turned loose at a wedding reception?

The first three minutes are on You Tube with Judd Hirsch going all "Network" on us.  So far the reviews have all been great, except for Dalton Ross of Entertainment Weekly, who would only like it if it was full of...uh...um...homos.

I'm looking forward to it.  Especially with ESPN killing Monday Night Football with assclowns like Berman, Irvin, Theismann and Kolber.

It'll be great.  Tim Conway is playing Sam Tyler.

I missed last Monday's so I watched it Sunday night, then caught the finale last night.  I loved the ending with mustache-demoted-cop saying "You just cost me 50 quid." and the reason why.

Gov is still the balls.  His comment about what he'd like to do to Sam's mother...the line about, "He's not jangling your keys, he really talks like that." And the line at the end was great.

I also liked how the car chase at the beginning ended, with them all getting out of the car and walking towards the "bad guys" only to have them drive away and get in an accident at the end of the street.

The best line of the year was uttered on Monday (and will not be topped.)

When the Gov told the Sargent to go arrest the pub owner so he and Sam could pose as the fill-in bartenders, Sarge asks what he's supposed to arrest him for.  Gov tells him, "Think of something on the way."

Later they're sitting around and Gov announces to the coppers that the pub owner is in custody.  He asks Sarge, "What was it that we finally charged him with?"

Sarge says, "Suspicion of cattle rustling!" to much laughter.  Tremendous.  What a great show.

I started watching it because Entertainment Weekly gave it such a good review.  It's been tremendous so far.  The best part is how they make police work look so much easier back in the 70s.  You didn't need forensics and fiber technology, you just beat the crap out of suspects until they fessed up or died.

I also have the hots for the chick who works at the police station and is the only person who knows he thinks he's gone 33 years back in the past.

This show could have easily died under the weight of the disbelief you need to suspend, but it's very well done.

Oh yes, this seems like a grand idea.

Since I work with him, I can tell you that Karry takes a lot of Coalminers.  We have to send a canary into the bathroom when he's done to see if the air is still toxic.

I have somewhere in the order of 20 Randy Martz baseball cards.  Whatever year that was, every time I bought a pack, it had a fucking Randy Martz in it.  Could have been worse.  Could have been Laddie Renfro.

I think they had to do something with Jim and Pam before the end of the season.  They painted it into a corner the night they had the Booze Cruise and Roy finally set a date for the wedding.  Until then, they could make jokes about how long Roy and Pam had been engaged, and Jim could half-assedly date other women (especially Amy Adams).  But once they set a date then something had to happen.  I'm glad they finally got it out of the way.

It sets up all kinds of awkwardness for next season, which is exactly what this show thrives on.

I had something on Thursday night and had to wait and watch it on TiVo late that night.  My girlfriend had already called me in between and given up the ending.  Though she didn't think she did.  All she said was..."Have you watched The Office yet?  Oh, I won't spoil it for you, but the ending is GREAT!"  Gee...what could that have meant.

My only doubt was when Jim and Jan were sitting on the car.  But I had that "the ending is GREAT!" running through my mind, so I knew it was going to end with Jim finally saying something to Pam.

Toby: "I don't even play poker.  But taking all of Michael's chips?  That felt really good.  I'm going to chase that feeling."

Kevin: "We don't get many gigs.  Or play in front of people, ever.  We really need Pam's wedding."

Kevin's going to be crushed when the wedding gets called off.
