OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Felix Fucking Pena

Felix Pena officially gone, traded to the Angels for a player to be named later after the playoffs (Mike Trout)

Hmm. Does Jon Jay move to left?

Jason probably shouldn't have gotten that degree from the Moises Alou school of baserunning.

His rbaser must have just vanished.

Sorry, should clarify. Just the missed catch. Booting the ball can't be forgiven.

I'll forgive that error.

Joe's great. But not sure why he didn't go to Montgomery for Harper. He'd been warming for 6 innings.

Also Ron Darling sucks.

That fuckin' rocked. Well, everything except Ron Darling.

I just learned that the 2016 playoffs are available on iTunes. Guess I know what I'm getting with my stack of iTunes gift cards that I'll almost certainly get from my students for Christmas this year.

iTunes rocks.

Zobrist RF
Bryant 3B
Rizzo 1B
Contreras C
Schwarber LF
Russell SS
Heyward CF
Baez 2B

I think this is actually the right call here. Jay can sub in for any of the three outfielders if needed, Happ available to PH vs the Nats left-handed heavy pen. Good deal, Joe.

That's beautiful.

Sorry.  The two separate postseason threads confused me and I put the comment below instead (thanks alot Sterling, you fuckhead)

Hector's the odd man out for the first round and Herb Washington Leonys Martin makes it.

My guess is Hector'll be back on next round since teams are more likely to carry 12 arms in a best-of-a-seven series.  They certainly don't need that many for a 5 game so I'm cool with this, even if I do feel a little bad for Hector since it seemed he had turned things around.  Like I said, though, he'll probably be back on next round.

Two can play at that game.

I think that's right. Also I'm glad Joe resisted the urge to include Rene Federowicz on the roster.

Eat it, fuckheads.

Like those Old Milwaukee ads used to say, "it doesn't get any better than this."

He has turned into one hellluva role player. Lord knows I'd never want to see him in the lineup on a daily basis, but he's been a damn fine bat off the bench.

I heartily positive LaStella.  His top comparison on BR might be Bobby Hill but he's absolutely been an above-average player for the Cubs, hits RH and LH well and as he's not a FA until 2021, I think we can expect to see quite a bit more of him in his bench role.  He's a smart dude and is only a genuine platoon gig away from being a JIMMY BUTTHOLE for the ages.

EDIT to add: I think on many teams he's absolutely a starter at 2B.  He's slightly unfortunate in that he's on the Cubs and they're so good that his opportunities are very limited.  On the other hand, you know... rings.

I suspect he'll get more playing time in the next year or two as Zobrist continues to decline and fade into more of a role player. This year BENNAY's issues seemed more injury related than age related but I still have my doubts he'll be a full-time or even most-of-the-time player by the end of his contract, and Tommy should presumably be one of the guys picking up the slack.

Even if you remove Zobrist from the equation, he's third on the 3B depth chart behind Bryant and Baez and third on the 2B depth chart behind Baez and Happ. Let him keep giving an .850 OPS off the bench.

God that's some sweet action. It's amazing to think we were once excited about Todd Walker.
