OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Are you fucking kidding me?

I'd say the joke is on me, but unfortunately, the joke is on the field.

I'm a big time Ron apologist, and I think Pat does a good enough job at describing a game of baseball by himself to cover for both sides of the booth, which he often has to do.  Still, Ron has been in Extra Grumpy mode all year long.  It was during the first week of the season when Pat told him "Ronnie, remember pack your blood pressure medication for the rest of the season -- for both you AND me".  He may have meant to include "ear plugs" as well.  Right now, it seems as if Ron simply does not enjoy being at the game.

Vin Scully is my favorite call in the business.  I always look forward to his broadcasts.  Hands down, the best in the game.

Where the hell are the bats?

If Jim Edmonds is the answer, could you repeat the question?

Other people pointed it out -- lots of underperformers, lots of guys missing time, etc.  But, still, it would be nice to see someone in a Cubs uniform cross home plate sometime soon.  Anytime.  Soon.  NOW.

One thing I noticed with Gregg yesterday, is that it looked like his throwing motion was starting earlier, instead of hiking his arm straight up in the air right away.  As a result, his fastballs had better location and movement, an improvement over being SPIKED straight into the effin' ground.

When his arm starts behind him, instead of at ear-level, his release point is earlier.  That's what we want him to stick with.  When he's doing that "ear-level" bullshit, his release point is very near his shoelaces.

If Larry Rothschild is in any way responsible for this adjustment in his mechanics, I will begin to question the world that I live in.

AAA call-up candidates:  Jeff Samardzija, Jose Ascanio, Jeff Stevens, Chad Fox's severed arm, Greg Reinhard, Esmailin Caridad.

I had never heard of either Reinhard or Caridad before today.

I'm not pushing the panic button on the bullpen.  It's too early to jump on the hate bandwagon.  With baseball, things need time to evaluate, the bullpen especially.  But, still, ....

Rush is one of only three bands to earn the 5-Star label from me.

I'm only half watching this Padres @ Mets game on ESPN2, but Rachel Robinson joined the booth in the top of the 3rd inning, allowing for this exchange.  I may have misheard it, but even if I did, I'm going to pretend that I didn't:
Quote
Joe Morgan:  Everybody called him Jackie.
Rachel Robinson:  I never called him Jackie.

I think he's fine, but, I'll take any excuse to paste my favorite line delivery in film history, also my favorite 1 second clip of all-time:

If 2K is getting their shit together and improving their products, then, what I want to know is, why the eff did they scrap their College Hoops franchise?  It was kind of a dull game, but it reproduced the college game pretty well.  It was the anti-"drive'n'dunk" game.

I'm terrible at basketball strategy, so I hated it.  I like strategy, so I liked it.  The franchise is dead now, so t'hell with it!

Baseball-related, Baseball Mogul 2010 is now available through torrents and file-sharing.  I have a link if anyone wants to download it.  I've only had a spare moment to tinker with it, went 83-79 with the 2009 Rockies.  Seems fungmang.

If I had a guess, I'd say it wasn't making them money.

That was my guess.  That and their commentators were Verne "Happy Walrus" Lundquist and Bill "MAN'DA'MAN" Raftery.  Both sounded like wooden actors portraying cardboard cutouts.

"SENDITIN!" Bill?  More like "MAILEDITIN!".
