We had a major storm blow through central WI in July with straight-line winds of 80+. As expected, trees and power lines down all over the area with a lot of house and vehicle damage. Got lucky with power only being out for a day, but people were foul at work for the most part. Avg person in the area was w/o power for 3-7 days. Technology's wonderful when it's working, but go with no power for a few days and it's like being in the stone age.

The defense is a lot of fun to watch, starting to remind me of the Urlacher/Briggs/Brown D, not there yet, but they're starting to hit their stride. On the other side, it's fucking painful to watch that offense, even with Howard and Cohen. I'd say it's time to take the kid gloves off...but they haven't let him graduate to even having kid gloves yet.

I'm not arguing the point of Lackey's meatball, just that with the exception of G5 of the NLDS, this group offensively has been a bunch of gutless, fucking pussies.

I really hope that's the last time we see Lackey pitch for the Cubs.

And while Quintana wasn't perfect, this ump's strike zone is pretty shitty.

What are the odds that the front office is scouring potential free agents this moment to overhaul this dumpster fire?

I can't even remember the last time I've heard of 7 steals in a game, and this is the 4th fucking inning w/o Lester on the mound. His FAMOUS pitch-framing isn't that good anymore and he's thrown out 1 out of about 32 or 33 runners...W.T.F. is he even playing for? He's  done. Firebarn his fat, old, useless ass.

What % of these reclamation projects turn into gold for the Cubs? Or at least good enough to be traded for big upgrades, Theo/Jed haven't missed on much in this category, and most have somehow turned platinum in some way from either Arrieta beign a stud or these 1st-half wonders turned into major prospects. There's also a reason we call Bosio the Wizard as under his watch we've turned people into studs.
