OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Boners.

Prospects rarely pan out. I'm not saying it's not going to happen, but it's going to not happen. Maybe we'll see one of these three in blue pinstripes, but I'm not holding my breath. That said, as I wrote back in 2007, sometimes a prospect can bring out that fire in a team; that passion in fans; and 118 word sentences from the voice of the Cubbie nation.

QuoteCubs' record with Felix Pie in Chicago: 12-9 Cubs' record with Felix Pie in Iowa: 11-22

OK, maybe it's not cause-and-effect, but we all noticed it, and I'm sure you have too: there is a certain energy that seems to just come to this team when Felix Pie is playing, and it happened again today, as Pie was recalled from Iowa with Daryle Ward heading to the DL (as first reported here at BCB yesterday), was immediately inserted into the starting lineup in CF, hitting second, and responded with a single and a pop-fly hit that should have been a second single, but with his speed turned into a RBI double, and the Cubs had a no-brainer of a game, a badly-needed easy 10-1 win over the Braves, snapping the losing streak at six.

2007 BBC six part series that's on Instant Watch now.

It was recommended to me by a Twitter person because I couldn't find anything to watch. It's a Moffat joint and boy howdy it is fucked up and really good. I'm through 4 episodes and expect to finish tonight. Get this in your queue if you haven't seen it.

Also Michelle Ryan.

Solid recommendation. I thought the twist on the story where the two personalities had a sort of contract so that they could coexist was interesting. Definitely saw a lot of Moffat's Doctor Who style coming through. Could have probably done without all of the quick-to-slow closeups of the monster mouths.

Dude, that's killer material. You should take that stuff on the road. Seriously.

He has. To Cleveland, Iowa City, Chicago, and back. He's a GRIT-ty blogger, that ChuckD.

I hope to incorporate monkeys in to my act soon. It'll be groundbreaking.

lol. I had a brief thing on my blog about Z's no hitter, and I use stat counter so I can track all of my traffic. So far I've had like 10 hits from google, and the last three hits (all from different people in diff. parts of the country) typed in "Santo" somewhere along with "Zambrano no hitter". That's fucking awesome. Gotta love Ron.

Really? That's fascinating. You have a blog? I would certainly like to know more.

QuoteLilly said he had not intended to injure Molina, who left the game three innings after taking a knee to the left thigh on a tag play at the plate.

"First of all, I hope he's not hurt," Lilly said. "It's not something I was trying to do and it's almost more dangerous if I slide and my only other option is to stand there and let him tag me. At that point in the game, it's useful.

"I don't know if I'm going to go eight innings and not give up another run so I feel like we have to do what we have to do to score more runs."

Molina left the game after the thigh tightened on him and expects to miss a couple of games. He had not been expecting a collision, given the pitcher was running.

Today Ted might have to pinch run and not intend to injure Fat Albert.

Surprise! The Jockey told me that the Genius is shocked and appalled at Ted's despicable actions.

QuotePiniella said Lilly wasn't supposed to run on the grounder by Derrek Lee, but he added it was a clean play. St. Louis manager Tony La Russa said the Cubs "play the game hard," adding "it goes both ways."

But when asked about Lilly's performance, La Russa hedged.

"I'll let the other team talk about him," he snapped. "I have no comment about him."

Whether there will be any repercussions Thursday remains to be seen.

La Russa is just a miserable piece of shit.

I think we should launch a preemptive strike. See if we can thread a baseball through the hole on PLUJOLS' earflap. Or Ludwick's...

Oh no doubt about it. Aside from the Pirates fan (5 world titles), I can see the Rangers and Mariners fans being mad... and hell if I was a Pirates fan i'd probably just off myself. But I mean, people act just because the Cubs are popular that it means something.. I'd trade all the Al Yellons' in the world to see the Cubs win a world series in my lifetime.

From my perspective, I've only been following baseball for the past 18 years or so. In that time, the Cubs and Mariners have had about equal amounts of success. The Rangers and Pirates have been even worse. The other 82 years of futility don't factor in to my perception of the Cubs' success. It's also why I don't appreciate Apex's hatred of my dad.

In completley unrelated news that none of you are sure to care about, I post frequently on another board. No, not as bad as BCB or the four letter site, but it's pretty damn bad. Case in point, today in a thread by a Brewers fan bitching about "this unfamiliar pain" of not being good, I was called annoying by a Mariners, Rangers and Pirates fan for simply telling the OP to shut the fuck up and "try being a cubs fan".

I guess the cubs are the blueprint for running a succesfull franchise. Now if you'll excuse me Im off to enjoy all these world series titles we have!

Well, the Mariners, Rangers, and Pirates are all pretty crappy.

Do you really now how your email magically appears on your computer?

So if I magically type in a certain website's URL, then I'll magically be able to see them taking their clothes off for money right?

Wait. I got confused. Are you trying to decide if she's married, or if she's married to a dude?
