OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

For all of you that don't get the Crane Kenney hate.

Did you witness the 7th inning stretch tonight?

Chip Carey wearing those stupid over sized Harry glasses and singing like he never left?

I don't care if it's Wally Hayward or some other Ricketts toady that was responsible.

That was fucked.

Sickening. I can't believe that just happened. It's proof positive that the Cubs have no idea how their fan base feels about certain people. Of course, the fan base also hates the goddamn celebrity conductor bullshit and they just keep trotting that out 81 times a year.

I give up.

Es verdad.

These mad dogs will not be muzzled.  Shame on Pelosi for encouraging them toward violence.

I have been very productive at work lately.  If I try to log onto Desipio at the office I get a message that "Internet Explorer cannot connect to this website".  I am logged on at home as I speak.  No offense intended Andy, but I think that I won't complain to our IT persons.  My billable hours have sky rocketed.  I am returning phone calls promptly.  I have caught up on my correspondence.  I met my deadline for an article.  I have researched my way through some knotty legal issues.   I have finally figured out how to get the most out of Lexis.  I even drafted an outline for questions for four depositions that I have to take in Los Angeles next week.  I have discovered a whole new me.

You don't need to complain to IT.  Just download Firefox.  http://www.mozilla.com  See if that fixes it.

Probably not, it's probably a firewall thing.  Apparently there's too much ghey stuff going on here, even for the Bay Area.  That's alarming.

Even so, today's Miles appearance is just his seventh in September. The Cubs are 3-4 when Miles appears and 7-0 when he doesn't.

Which means that Lou uses him when it doesn't make any difference

This is going to start again so it deserves a bump.  They have been running old episodes back to back and I have to say that I have changed my mind about DeVito in this series.  I think that he adds a great deal, as long as they don't try to make the show about him.  I once heard the Marx Brothers' humor described as "subversive".  I didn't know what they meant by that.  Now I do.  The adjective really applies to this show.  It contradicts everything near and dear to a middleclass heart.

I am reluctant to admit this, but I didn't like this movie.  I agree that chapter one was engrossing.  Everything else was bizarre.

I was just about to start rooting for Cal, too.

I read a review that described this movie as a "Jewish wet dream" about killing Nazis.  During World War II Hollywood routinely made movies creating fictitious battles and victories.  But after the war movies were fictionalized versions of actual events.  Audiences were not prepared for stories that changed the way things played out.  That's why this movie put me off.  It was like seeing Custer win the battle at the Little Big Horn.

I don't know what is more embarrassing,  the fact that I have had the chutzpah to post 1908 times or the message in the box next to my avatar telling me how many days I have spent logged into Desipio.  I would like to think that it was all time well spent.  But who am I kidding?  If there is anything that I would change about Desipio it is that reminder that instead of lurking around here I could have been trying to make the world a better place.  Because I believe that God has put us here to love one another and to strive for world peace.  And if you select me as Mr. Desipio I will use my office as an ambassador of good will to places such as South Carolina and you know, Iran, and such like...

On one of our trips to New Orleans, Mrs Cubbieblue took a cooking class.  The lesson was on authentic New Orleans bread pudding.   You start by coating the pan with bacon grease.

I suspect Harvey Keitel was a bad choice as Gene Hunt.  For one thing, I couldn't understand a goddamn word he was saying.  For another thing, Sam Tyler could kick his ass.  Part of the awesomeness of the Guv was that he was physically intimidating, and would have smacked the shit out of Sam.

Also, they made Ray's character too likable.

I hope this ends up being good, though.

Keitel sucks as the Guv.  He's like a sad parody of the British Gene Hunt.

I think in the first and only 20 minutes I watched, this is what killed it for me. These "characters" offer little appeal. Maybe the 70's in England were just way better. I always thought they would have been awesome in the US. I guess I was wrong.

Dazed and Confused IS A LIAR.

I think that the '70s were awesome.  Although generally we produced crap (Peter Max was the iconic artist of the times) there was a lot of innovation.  Music.  Polyester.  Sideburns.  Nixon.  Impeachment.  Vietnam protests.  Weed.  Experimentation.  Peace and Freedom.  Huey Newton.  Eldridge Cleaver.  I got through it.

My faith has been restored. Thanks Stew.

You had faith in bell bottoms and wide lapels?

I have faith. Have.

Well, you gotta have faith.

No.  You gotta have hope.  Mustn't sit around and mope.  All you really need is hope.
