OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Internet creed: when logic, reason, and evidence fly in the face of your opinions, you must troll a message board.

Wait a min, is this directed towards me? Am I not only being irrationally attacked, but now also called a troll because I pointed out Baker has a very Patterson-like .249/.306/.390/.696 line in 496 PA away from Coors??? Wow...

And the worst part? Let's just go along with it for a second. Lets say those whopping 39 hits at Wrigley leading to the 809 OPS means he is just not that bad here. What does that really mean? Doesnt that still leave us with 82 games where he sucks balls with the career .249/.306/.390/.696 road line? I mean even if he should somehow be expected to hit okay at Wrigley, isnt that still only half the games we play???

Seriously, what a stupid fucking straw-man argument you all brought... "he might not completely suck balls when in Chicago, he only does that in the other 50% of the games - so you are wrong!"

I think you nailed it

that's still good for someone I called a super-utility platoon player.

Maybe you, but this is what I had replied to
"I've seen enough Jeff Baker over three months of baseball to know I'd like to see him on the field pretty much every day at this point."

That.

.299/.353/.556/.909 (364 PA) at Coors
.295/.350/.470/.819 (143 PA) at Wrigley

That really ought to be the end of this.

Because, thing is, I think our park is called Wrigley.

.295/.350/.470/.819 (143 PA) at Wrigley......... with a .357 BAbip

You're talking 39 hits, about 5 of which baseball history says he probably shouldn't have gotten. But what if he hadn't gotten those 5 extra singles? .258/.315/.432/.747

Also, Baker's spent his career in the post-humidor era of Coors Field. While still a hitter's park, the numbers have dropped considerably from the glory days and are more in line with just about any hitter's park in the majors.

Which is why I have started the Trade for Garret Atkins and Clint Barmes website already

Look, I don't really care who gets you guys all wet. But Baker? Off about 250 PA with an overall .354 BAbip? Well, didnt we learn this exact lesson last season with Fonetnot?

But we're the Cubs, it will probably go right for us!  :(

I've seen enough Jeff Baker over three months of baseball to know I'd like to see him on the field pretty much every day at this point.    Statistically, from a fielding perspective (the part I wasn't sure about), he's pretty average as an IF.

Sumbitch sure looks like he can hit.

.299/.353/.556/.909 at Coors
.249/.306/.390/.696 everywhere else

yeah, only problem is, I think our park is called Wrigley

He's got an .823 OPS as a Cub. I'll take it for a super-utility platoon player. Don't make me side with Kurt, on anything, ever.

No, no, youre right. I didnt realize he had hit .318/.349/.480/.829 over his first 243 PA with the Cubs. I clearly must bow down to that.

Shit! So sorry, it looks as though I gave the first 243 PA of Neifi Perez by mistake...

Uhhhh, make that 238 PA of .304/.357/.465/.823 for Baker

Marlon byrd is hitting 200 now.  Can I start booing this black guy yet?

By my count, our "boo a minority" ticket is reserved for the next 5 seasons on Soriano. And we are already going to be pushing it when Silva inevitably implodes

Sorry man...

A player who puts up dramatically better numbers at home than on the road?  What a rarity!

Yeah, thats probably it! By the way, I have some land you might be interested in.

You own part of Wrigley? That must be a license to print money.

Carlos in 6 Opening Day starts:

8.23 ERA
1.98 WHIP

I'm going to venture to say that's heavily inflated by this one.. Which if that's the case, there's little to base the thought of "It's opening day so Z will suck"... But that's just me. I want my fat asshat of a pitcher back though. Fuck this kindred spirit.

It's somewhat inflated, but not really. He was bad on opening day in '05, '06, and '07, but not as bad as today. He was tits in 2008 and 2009, though, so I had hope he had turned it around.

It was at 4.67 ERA and 1.70 WHIP on OD prior to the disaster

Anyone care to note how stupid it is to "honor" Jackie Robinson by having everyone wear the same number?

1) It's a shallow gesture. To me, it almost reeks of Buddyboy convincing himself he's not a racist.
2) It makes life difficult for Pat Hughes who is trying to figure out who's doing what out there (who's up in the bullpen, who's pinch-hitting, etc.)
3) Are you really honoring Jackie by allowing Ryan Theriot or Jeff Samardzija to wear No. 42?

I dont know, you know there has to be at least one racist mother fucker out there who dreads this day like nothing else because he has to wear the number. And THAT alone makes it pretty cool in my eyes

Otherwise, yeah, pretty weak way of honoring history. And actually kind of ironic to have a bunch of white guys dress up like a black guy in "honor". I thought that kind of stuff was frowned on.

Fuck you all! Yeah, thats right, fuck you! Just because someone cums and has a different way of doing things, you assholes get your panties in your hair, if you even have any unlike me baby! You all can go to hell!

But I guess its right. See, I doubt any of you have the upper edumacation you get at an ivory league school! Yeah, I went to Notre Damn you fuck heads, so suck it! The only ivory you assholes know is the stuff you cry over when you spill your beers yelling shit at your own team! Really, how fucked up are you? So being of a high edumacation like me and being a superstar in Football like me, I know that there are other ways of beating people. You know, like wornding down the other club! Sure you all get your hardons poppin over Marshall as he has his sad little 3 man innings, but let me ask you this, how exactly does that wear down his opponets? I'll tell you, it doesnt! So then you know what happens? People like Grabow and Caridad and myself have to face a un-wornded team, and it isnt easy!

So here I am doing everything I can to help the club win by forcing all the other guys with bats up to the plate, making them all swing the bat and then making them run around the bases and in the end, you have a team that is wornded out! Yeah, thats right, I am wornding them down baby! I am doing my job and you assholes still give me shit for it? Lou knows the score, Lou told me I rock! So fuck you inbred drunks! Milton was right, this is just a fucked up city with you unedumacated thinking!

So fuck you, fuck you and the Donkey you ride on!
And consider yourselves bite by the Shark baby!
