OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Well, I held out as long as I could.  Here is my 3,816th post.  It will not be as heartwarming and meaningful as some of the others.  It won't be a triumph of the human spirit, nor a salute to a man who, like Cal Ripken, just goes to work everyday, and wastes time on a messageboard.  I don't remember how I stumbled onto Desipio originally, but I think the first thing I read by Andy was a biting review and criticism of WSCR, and it got me hooked.  I used to check Desipio every day at lunch, hoping there was another Daily Dose (back when they were daily) to give me a little entertainment during the day.  Then came the gamecasts and the running commentaries everyday, and finally this fancy messageboard opened up, and it was good.  Many things have happened between now and then, most of them posts by Slaky.  I'm not going to document them, because you can just go back in the archives yourself and read about carlosno1fan and Paul and the tranny porn attack and all that other stuff.

Suffice to say, I like it here.  Despite your lack of support for me, you're a swell bunch, and I think I'd enjoy having a beer with just about any of you, and hopefully I'll get that chance sometime.  You can never have enough people to drink beer with.

So here's to the most incoherent, rambling, piece of shit 1908th post ever.

Mine.

I for one am shocked at how pathetic you guys are how fast you guys go through screen names.  I've been a member on this board for a very, very long time and I'm not even half way toward 1908 or whichever number I'd be interested in choosingbecause I'm too busy playing Hobbit baseball or some crazy shit like that.  Get a life off the message board, losers.  Go you, I really think it's awesome that you guys post here so much.

Geek'd.

Andy's Dose reminded me of how eager I am for gamecasts to start.  I want to be the first to make a "I'd give my left nut for a hit" joke when Barrett comes up to bat.

Also, it appears I'll be hitting 1908 again soon, which means I need to acquire a 4th initial.

Ah the third screen name club.

How about CPT, Too?

Actually, I'm thinking I'll go with CT, the Revenge

I'm fairly certain that I have a head injury because I laughed pretty hard at Tina Fey's Danny's "You will never alter drapes in Atlanta, Georgia again because you don't EVER cross a Sugarbaker" "did you and the last honest man get loaded on Jägermeister and forgot that there's like five hundred different kinds of birth control?" line.  Kenneth Simon Stiles was gangsta-gangsta as always.  Mistah Jack Tripp was simply the best.

Fixed.

Aw Kurt, don't do this to yourself.  Studio 60 is deader than dogshit.

Let it go, man, let it go.

I mentioned it in the other thread, and it deserves mention in this one...

Dr Strangelove.

You can't talk about Dr. Strangelove in here, this is the War Movie thread!

I never figured out why they made a war film about beef suet.

It's about Great Britain's ongoing war against the human digestive tract.

Does "The Final Countdown" count?

(insert Gob Bluth reference here)

No, but Red Dawn does.

All the movies listed so far are the balls.  The only additions I can think of are We Were Soldiers and A Bridge too Far.

A Fridge Too Far?

Please, give me my dignity.  I just want to watch "Honk if You're Horny" in peace.

And I'll even steer this one back onto topic:

The Battle of the Bulge.

Savalas + WWII = Awesome

Bridge on the River Kwai
The Dirty Dozen
Kelly's Heroes

It's not a movie, but I love the Band of Brothers miniseries.

Kelly's Heroes is great. Uncle Leo is in it.

Yup, as were Archie Bunker and Don Rickles.  Rickles was great, he looked exactly the same in that movie as he does now.  Was the guy ever young?

I'd have liked to have been a fly on the wall in the press section.  I mean, what if Peter King and Rick Reilly were sitting next to each other.

Quotec. Sitting next to Rick Reilly in the press section. "You know what I call Prince?'' he said before halftime. "Not 'The Artist Formerly Known as Prince.' But 'The Artist Formerly Known.'''

Meh.  Rick Reilly, meet Mike Downey.  You may actually be the same person.

Yeah, I still peruse King's crap.  Here's a saucy nugget.  No link because you all know where to find him.

QuoteI love how Favre announced he was coming back on the Friday of Super Bowl week, and told the local paper in town. That is so classic Favre. He picked the time where the world would be most focused on something else, so he could get the minimum amount of attention. Beautiful.

Is Farvarah not the same guy that, last offseason, basically held up the Packers from doing anything significant because they were waiting on word whether he'd be back?  And didn't he have press conferences where he'd announce that he still hadn't made a decision?

Oh, and by the way:

QuoteTom Brady and O.J. Simpson shared the same South Beach restaurant, but not the same table, Friday night.

Brady must have been with a brunette, since he got out alive.

There's no mention of the waiter...
