OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Great, let's see him throw at one of our guys' hands and knock him out for the year. That'd be swell.

If they come up and in on one guy tonight Pujols needs to take one in the dome. I know he'll just up his HGH dosage to get back into the line-up quicker but Piniella needs to go right to the nuclear option if LaRussa decides to dust somebody.

Harden got any history of drilling dudes?

All that time in the Bay area?

QuoteLilly said he had not intended to injure Molina, who left the game three innings after taking a knee to the left thigh on a tag play at the plate.

"First of all, I hope he's not hurt," Lilly said. "It's not something I was trying to do and it's almost more dangerous if I slide and my only other option is to stand there and let him tag me. At that point in the game, it's useful.

"I don't know if I'm going to go eight innings and not give up another run so I feel like we have to do what we have to do to score more runs."

Molina left the game after the thigh tightened on him and expects to miss a couple of games. He had not been expecting a collision, given the pitcher was running.

Today Ted might have to pinch run and not intend to injure Fat Albert.

Surprise! The Jockey told me that the Genius is shocked and appalled at Ted's despicable actions.

QuotePiniella said Lilly wasn't supposed to run on the grounder by Derrek Lee, but he added it was a clean play. St. Louis manager Tony La Russa said the Cubs "play the game hard," adding "it goes both ways."

But when asked about Lilly's performance, La Russa hedged.

"I'll let the other team talk about him," he snapped. "I have no comment about him."

Whether there will be any repercussions Thursday remains to be seen.

La Russa is just a miserable piece of shit.

Hard-nose baseball.  That's what he's all about.

It made me think how Edmonds has not really exhibited the same cocky crap that made him such a douche in St. Louis. Some of it may be because he's a Cub now, but it's interesting how a lot of guys start acting better once they get away from LaRussa's crap.

Since Scott Rolen always maintained his cool, I'm not going to completely exonerate Lassie

And, Rolen seemed to have pretty much stayed in LaRussa's doghouse.

The Cards and Brewers were ready to kill each other.  Too bad they didn't.

Seems like I remember about the same time last year their pitchers waking up the slumbering Cards and provoking them into delivering an ass-pounding.

Somewhere in Desipioland there is a picture of what would appear to be an early 70's hotel room containing a dude smoking, an old lady and an old lady vomiting.  Any of you Romeo's have that one saved?  I'll hang up and listen for my answer.

This one?

I believe I have the original at home.

Dempster and his groupies?

Do any of you gentlemen want a small, non-speaking role in a short, student thesis film? Probably shooting somewhere downtown on Monday, Aug. 4. Not sure what time that day but it won't take long. You get to dress up in a painter's outfit, jump out of a van, kidnap someone and throw them into the van.

This gig doesn't pay but you get to be on set and get filmed doing something cool and funny.

And I'd owe you one.

No homo stuff.

I think that the new york magazine of Obama and his wife is just one more thing the republicans are doing to try to keep people from voting for him but it will only work for the americans that are already morans.

I'm thinking of getting my wife an acoustic guitar for her birthday.  Problem is, I know fuck all about guitars.  Are there any musically gifted Desipiots out there that can steer me in the right direction?

Also, this is one of those things that she is likely to play for like 6 weeks tops and then it will sit around taking up space, so nothing top of the line here.  However, if I pony up for a flashy birthday gift, that PS3 is mine once the price drops a bit below $750...

Get a nice Yamaha dreadnought. Can't be more than a couple hundred bucks.

Or, check craigslist, maybe there's someone who's wife already used up her six weeks of playing.

Fender sells these "Acoustic Packs" for like US$150.  Guitar, gig bag, strap, picks, strings... pick that up along with a $20 capo and you've got everything you need outside of this site.  The guitar actually plays nicely - I picked one up for my wife who has played it like 5 times total in a year.

Alternatively... these guys:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigation/6-string-acoustic-guitars?N=100001+304293&Ns=P_Price%7c0

have some good deals.  I like the cutaways myself, and they have a Jasmine (Takamine's "budget-conscious" line) cutaway for $100.

Have you considered an electric?  They require less hand strength to play (generally speaking) and sound just fine even without an amp.
You can get an electric starter kit with a shitty amp for around 200 dollars at any Guitar Center. She'll enjoy it more than acoustic I bet because it can at least get loud.

Though you're still in Australia, right? Probably not many Guitar Centers down there...

Anyway, check out a Squier starter electric pack. Maybe she will take to it better with electric.

Don't be afraid to check out a pawn shop.  If you see a few models you like and can afford you can always ask about them here before you buy.

In case Margaret Meade came back from the dead and studied the culture that is Desipio, she'd easily be able to conclude that, when there's no baseball, we drink a lot and listen to music?  Do I have that right?

Who says we don't do that when there IS baseball?

Who remembers Black Label? Ugh.

Worst. Ever.

Being broke and in college one weekend, me and two other guys all pitched in a buck to buy a case.  That's right, a case for $3.  Worst 8 beers of my life.

For a good beer, I'll throw in a plug for Kansas City's Boulevard beer, good stuff. For mass market, I'll usually grab a Corona or Sam Adams.

I don't drink Coronas because Mexican bartenders laugh at you if you order it.  They know something.

I'll vouch for Boulevard.  I'll even vouch for a St. Louis brew, Schlafly's.

This man is single handedly keeping Dusty Baker employed... and I am very willingly eating my mean mean words about Neifi from early May. If he can just keep this team CLOSE until August, when we get Wood, Prior (maybe), Nomar (maybe) back... a little trade of one Corey Patterson for a willing leadoff hitter... this season may not be lost. Especially if we all get Koronk'd every 5 days. But D.Lee is gonna be in this triple crown chase for quite a while. He's one of the most complete players in the league.

He needs a nickname!

I thought it was Rodan.
