OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

When you score the overtime goal that brings my team it's first Stanley Cup in 49 years, you can act like a dick.

In fact, I insist.

This is a great ratfuck by the GOP. Hilarious interview.

"I just ran a good old fashioned campaign."

Or it could be that the Dems just nominated a dumbass.

Remember, the is the South Carolina GOP we're talking about here.   It's the party of Congressmen who shout "you lie", Governors that like long walks on the Appalachian Trail, and State Senators who called a Sikh woman a "raghead" and compared her to the Manchurian Candidate.

There's no way in hell they'd be able to pull something like this off.

Good points all, you're probably right. Unless...all of the incidents you mentioned were part of a long con setting up this epic triple-reverse ratfuck?

Given the pedigree of those public servants, maybe this guy isn't so bad after all.  I hope this long con goes on through the Summer.

Regarding the Kane interview, I thought he was sort of an asshole.  He introduced his annoying, screaming companion as "his world-famous cousin," then got all pissed off when the reporter joked, "Just make sure you don't take any cab rides."  Kane opened up the joking and then got all petulant when the reporter joined in.  I thought it was pretty childish.  Of course, he IS a child, so...

Fuck the damn reporter. Laugh along with Kane, shut up about that kind of stuff, and move on.

That's my point.  He WAS trying to laugh along with Kane, and Kane acted like a dick.  He's a hell of a hockey player, but I think he was a dick to that one reporter in that one instance.  I'm not trying to make a bigger deal out of it than that.  That is all.

Wait, a pro athlete acted like an asshole? This changes my entire worldview.

And a 20 year old kid that just won the Stanley Cup.  Most of the sports reporters in Chicago news are idiots, so I'd give the kid a pass.

Just a cringeworthy interview.  I think even Olbermann wanted to just end it and move on.

Would have been awesome if that Hossa shot went in as the 3rd period was winding down, but the Kane goal was pretty cool once everyone realized that it was actually a goal.  Great ending to the playoffs.  Now, 4 weeks of World Cup and can almost see the beginning of football season.

Britt Hume is the balls.

Or something.

Wow. While I think Brit's entitled to his opinion, that bit about Buddhism not offering forgiveness and redemption is just flat-out retarded. I guess Brit's slipped around the bend.

As a firm believer in karma, I'm sure Brit will be just fine, or not.

I'd like to thank the "u's" offensive coordinator for failing to look at the Northwestern game footage against Wisconsin.  Badger pass rush looked excellent, but it took 56 minutes for them to figure out they could exploit the corners.  I think this makes up for the 1989 slaughter I witnessed against them at Camp Randall.

"We scored first!"

Lol, I think the final was like 52-3 in that 1989 game.  Was that DEnnis Erickson coaching that team or was Jimmy Johnson still there?  A friend of mine and I were debating that tonight.

Blue Dog "deficit hawk" Ben Nelson comes out in favor of deficit spending:

http://yglesias.thinkprogress.org/archives/2009/12/does-ben-nelson-know-what-war-bonds-are.php

Quote
QuoteIn lieu of a "war tax" to pay for a troop increase in Afghanistan, Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson (NE) is proposing war bonds.

"We didn't have a war tax in the second World War," Nelson said, and instead the government sold Americans bonds. "People invested in their country, in that fashion [and] made a lot of sense back then. I don't know why it might not make sense today, certainly in lieu of jumping to tax."

One thing NBC's Ken Strickland might have wanted to note while "reporting" this story is that what Nelson is saying here is false. During World War II taxes went up substantially....

The larger issue here, though, is that we have to wonder does Ben Nelson understand that war bonds are just bonds? Calling a bond a "war bond" is a marketing gimmick, not an actual method of financing a war. Is Nelson saying that if Obama relabels a few hundred dollars worth of deficit spending as "war bonds" that he'll stop complaining about?

Ass.

So what's the current return on these bonds?  I think you can get 0.5% to 1.5% in a savings account.  I find it enjoyable that the people making policy are pretty deficient on even the most basic economic concepts.  Having a war?  Let's cut taxes.

USC is up by two touchdowns over UCLA with less than a minute to play, so Carroll has his quarterback take a knee.  Neuheisel will have none of that so he takes a timeout to stop the clock. (I guess that he had a 14 point play in mind)  Carroll reciprocates with a 47 yard touchdown pass and the officials and police have to get between the two teams.  Who says that we don't have class in the PAC 10?

I think that's a pretty decent fu in a rivalry game.  Is it time to start up a 2009-10 college hoops thread yet?

"Weis has told people in South Bend that he's already heard from roughly six NFL teams about becoming their offensive coordinator next season, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter."

Would the Bears be on this short list?

Six teams have already decided to fire their OC that they have already reached out to Weis?

Who is fact checking this bullshit?

A report on the 4 letter?  Probably no one in all honesty.
