This little gem appeared as a headline on "Yahoo Sports!"


"Cubs break Harry Caray statue; 102 more years of losing ahead"

I don't know why they put up a statue of Harry in the first place.  I don't know why they moved it.  It is not exactly Chicago's equivalent of The Pieta.  Hell, it isn't even close to the Picasso monstrosity.  So someone cracked the base.  BFD.  Replace the base or repair it with Duct Tape.  Cracking the damn thing isn't going to be the reason for losing for 102 more years.  It is owners like the Rickets (which is merely a version of the name "Wrigley") who are going to be responsible for that.  If anything will cause a new curse it is painting the marquee purple.  That is just embarrassing.
