I still have a job, but this thread makes me wat to not spend so much on mine and/or grow my own.

Oleg, we've been through this. Small-scale indoor growing is not a thrifty proposition. Outdoor growing cannot be rushed and is even more subject to catastrophe. The only thing that is directly purchased is the entertainment of sitting around watching the plants. I don't deny the appeal of this, but don't mistake it for a savings.

The point isn't the savings, it's the control.  Sure, you don't have to make your own  beer in order to be a beer connoisseur, but if you're a beer connoisseur, it's probably more fun to make your own.

I don't think this is a fair apples-to-apples comparison as a huge variety of wonderful beer is freely available on the open market.

Home brewing is a shitton of work that frequently results in a piece of crap end product, very often much worse than a lot of the stuff you can get from your local beer-o-rama.

Whereas, with growing your own grass you can produce an end product that's often not only higher quality than you can get (depending on your connections, of course) but also right in your living room whenever you want it.

I used to date a girl whose brother grew shrooms.
Lots of them.
Some things can be a bit too convenient.

At least he must have been somewhat tidy. I never had any success (although I was trying to go from plate culture).

I would agree.  However, the operative word is 'could'.  If you don't know what you're doing with growing weed, you'll wind up with crap, too.  And, in places like Colorado, it is fairly freely available, as well.

Oleg, we've been through this.

This is true.

To have been a fly on the wall.

I had the honor of hearing about one of these summits in person from Oleg the very next day.

I'd like to actually be there in the room soaking up the knowledge or whatever.

O, Canada...

http://whyprohibition.ca/blogs/jacob-hunter/court-strikes-down-marijuana-laws-gives-government-90-days-fix-charter-issues

QuoteToday in R v. Mernagh the Ontario Superior Court of Justice found the entire regulatory scheme governing medical marijuana (the Marihuana Medical Access Regulations) to be invalid. As a result sections 4 (prohibiting possession) and 7 (prohibiting production) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act were stricken. The government has been given 90 days to fill the legislative void or it will become legal to possess and produce marijuana.
