There was a brief show on Netflix about a guy who gets the clap and then has to find out who else he might have given it to all while he's clearly in love with this hot broad who's marrying some other dude. Hokey, romcom set up aside (also these Brits just fuck at the drop of a hat - is that real life in your 20s because *man* I missed out) it's entertaining.

Somewhere in the rubble of Desipio is a Life On Mars thread. Still one of the greatest shows I've ever watched, and Gene Hunt is one of the greatest characters ever written/played.

If you haven't seen it, you're as hopeless as a belt salesman in Iowa.

I watched the first couple of shows, but then it got a bit hokey and self-conscious about the whole seventies thing, and I gave up.

EDIT: if you want to see the original, unreconstructed seventies show on which "Life of Mars" was based, check out "The Sweeney" (Sweeney Todd - Flying Squad).  But do not, under any circumstances, watch the Godfuckingawful Ray Winstone film, based on the series, of the same name.

Funny, I didn't feel any of the self-consciousness at all. It just felt like a cop show.

Also under Godfuckingawful - Ashes To Ashes, the sequel to Life On Mars.

And filed under Ihavequestionabletaste, I thought Ashes to Ashes was the better series (particularly the way the first series ended).

If I mentioned my love of Doctor Who, would I be ridiculed?

Nearly forgot about this: Big Train.  Early Simon Pegg/Mark Heap (Green Wing) sketch show, written by Arthur Mathews and Graham Linehan (Father Ted).  It was pretty off-the-wall back in the day, and it's aged not badly at all - a few misses but quite a lot of nice stuff.
