Yep.  My buddy posted it on his blog last night.  It is the worst thing ever.  People greenlighted this.  Just think about that.  Someone thought that this makes ND look BETTER.

I'm just waiting for Ron Zook to see it. Then he'll hire FreakBass or whatever his name is to produce "We Are Illinoize." It'll be 5 minutes of Ron Zook water skiing and Juice Williams overthrowing the city of Champaign.

Thanks for the reminder of how terrible Illinois football is.

Every summer I take my two boys to Cincinnati to watch the Reds play. Just like my dad took me. Last year I heard this unique, fun, infectious song blaring from the speakers at Great American Ballpark. The song, Reds Fan. The artist, Freekbass. A six time winner for Best R&B/Funk Performer by the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards. His producer, Bootsy Collins, a Rock-n-Roll Hall of Famer. The Freekbass CD, "The Air Is Fresher Underground", was short listed for best R&B Album nominee for the Grammys in 2002.

I loved Reds Fan. Funky, fresh, different. I loved Freekbass. A throwback to the 1970s when the Reds were the Big Red Machine, and Notre Dame ruled football and basketball. "Reds Fan" has made the talented Freekbass the talk of Cincinnati.

Back in South Bend in the 2000s, I was tired of reading about how stale the fans are at Notre Dame. How the stadium had no energy, how the fans sat on their behinds.

I was tired of it.

I know the passion of ND fans. You do too. How many of you alumni celebrated silly in South Bend when ND beat Miami in 88, or Florida State in 93? Where has that partyin' passion been?

It's there. It's there. Just waiting. Waiting.
