But the question is did the Cubs admit a mistake quickly enough to satisfy sourpuss Eli, hmmm?

Also I'm kind of curious what other examples he has of the front office being slow to admit mistakes. I can't really think of any mistakes they made that they didn't move on from quickly enough. Edwin was removed from the rotation and eventually the team the second they were trying to contend.

Agreed. They should cut him and replace him with one of the better linebackers like

DPD (not defending Sheamus, just pointing out that he's probably not even in the top 25 reasons probably that the Bears are a hopeless mess).

If you read up, Apex' Mclellan mention was prompted by the discussion of teams that don't admit they made mistakes on players and hold on to them, which the Cubs are very much not, contrary to Eli's very wrongheaded take. :(
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Totally. They should just keep him around because they wasted a high pick on him.

And no - I think he would make the top 25. Even if as a symbol of their awful drafting.

He's not in the top 25 reasons. He's reason number 4,080. I'm not losing sleep over it, believe me.

Yeah but the truly sad thing is that I 100% believe Shea is an absolutely shitty player and yet I'm not sure anyone behind him is any better. Last year PFF had him as a completely average linebacker. He doesn't really make anything, his salary is guaranteed anyway as a first round pick under the new CBA, and his 5th year option has already been declined, so just deal with him for a few more months and know that he's gone afterwards.

If your point is that I should complain about something else other than Shea, ok. But that might involve paying attention to the Bears so I could figure out all the other more pressing concerns and having an opinion on how they should fix them. No.

And the fact that he's still here says a lot about both the former and current GMs.

Oh no, complain away. It says a lot about the Bears that Shea sucks, that he was drafted in the first place for a position no one not named Phil Emery thought he could play and that he's stuck around this long. It says something even worse that as bad as he is, I don't think they have a better option on the roster.

Are we misspelling McClellin as McClellan in order to spite the bastard by comparing him to the shitty Civil War general? Because I'm down with that.
I wonder who McClellan's PR man was?  For a guy who accomplished so little he certainly got a lot out of his reputation.  He was the Union's Scrappy McGillicudy.

I think of him as the Union's Jim Hendry. No matter how badly he failed at his job, he was still one of the boys.
