The Garza trade is starting to look like Theo and Jed's worst move*, which is odd given how excited everyone was for a good year or so after it.

Edwin Jackson was probably worse. But it's not a very long list, so whatever.

What do we have left besides Grimm...?  Carl's Jr.?  That one might still work out but still...point taken.

Since I enjoy splitting a good hair (by cracky), I'll throw in DJ Lamahieu-for-Ian Stewart (not that Lemahieu doesn't suck because I'm convinced he does but Ian Stewart was pure rottenness)....and what do they have to show for Paul Maholm?  LaStella, eventually (with a dosey-doh of Arodys Vizcaino)?  Well that one maybe was okay.

They had an opportunity to deal Garza a year earlier for some (reportedly) good pieces but waited too long and he got gimpy and they shut him down. We'll never actually know what they could've gotten, of course. Then when the next year rolled around, he had one fewer year of control, so they didn't get as good of a return.

I mostly put it above the others because he was one of the few major trade chips they had -- you don't typically expect to get a lot of the Lamahieus, Maholms and Feldmans of this world.
