Yeah, he fell apart due to the pressure of his insane fans and the overwhelming burden of fame. It had nothing to do with his rookie season being a lucky aberration completely out of line with his minor league numbers and an easily predictable regression back to mediocrity.

Because he's always throwing little snide comments like that into his articles about players he doesn't like. A lot of it unsourced or opinion-based. It annoys me on the rare occasions I read what he writes.

Met a guy at the hotel breakfast in New Orleans.  He was wearing a Cubs shirt.  I asked him if he knew who won the game on the previous night.  He said that he didn't know and apologized for not knowing because Tod Ricketts was one of his best friends.  I felt that it would be discrete of me to change the subject.
