Coghlan's not the same thing as a third string catcher, mostly because they are actually playing Coghlan, and they had better outfield options on the roster already.

Yeah but my point was that Coghlan was unnecessary given that they had better outfield options on the roster already, and at least if Almora isn't hitting he's a plus defender, whereas Coghlan is just ass all around. Federowicz was on the roster because they need an emergency catcher if Miguel's back flared up again and they didn't want to call up Contreras prematurely.

One guy has been handed like 60% of the starts in left field undeservedly, one guy was a replacement level player asked to be a backup to the backup.
