Doesn't change that bitching about Coghlan is way more valid than bitching about Federowicz, but still, let the Welshman have his day.

Coghlan is a shitbucket, but the rest of the team is awesome enough to carry him.

I'm not sure an entire lineup of Babe Ruths can carry Federowicz.

Yeah but my point was that Coghlan was unnecessary given that they had better outfield options on the roster already, and at least if Almora isn't hitting he's a plus defender, whereas Coghlan is just ass all around. Federowicz was on the roster because they need an emergency catcher if Miguel's back flared up again and they didn't want to call up Contreras prematurely.

One guy has been handed like 60% of the starts in left field undeservedly, one guy was a replacement level player asked to be a backup to the backup.

Coghlan was a cheap LH bat, and a good hedge on their bet on Almora. They can launch him as soon as Soler and LaStella return if he still sucks.

My guess is that the Cubs believe whatever he lost in Oakland can be found in Chicago.

I know and understand and if drunk enough would admit to agreeing with the logic behind the Coghlan move. Doesn't change that he's a fuckwad and I hate him and his stupid face and he's a garbage player who likes garbage music and probably wears too much Axe body spray.
