Goblin Cock, yes of the Goblin Cock burger, is playing at the Empty Bottle on Wednesday.

Mastodon has a burger, too.

I know. That's what reminded me of the Goblin Cock show.

Boris are fun. Any Opeth fans out there?

I keep hearing great things. Where should I start?
Either Still Life or Blackwater Park. Although they have a consistently good catalogue.
Take that, Adolf Eyechart.

Just started listening to this metal band called Gojira, they're from France but they yell in English.

Anyway, the album The Way of All Flesh is pretty bad ass.

Just did so recently. Epic.

I'm actually listening to Leviathan now, which reminded me of this thread.

Awesome. I, too, celebrate Mastodon's entire catalog.

Time to resurrect this thread.

Siberian Divide by Mastodon is an ass-kicking fuckyesathon that you (you metal fan, you) need to listen to today right before you go out and punch a shark in the face.

It can be found on the album Blood Mountain.

Also - band of the week: Pelican

If you like metal, post-rock, sludge or any of that kind of stuff - this is for you.

Their new album sound like early 90's Soundgarden production mixed with Hum. They're really, really good and their local. It's a win-win.

Converge is a really, really good band.

Also, I think I'm gay for Opeth. Watershed is fantastic.

Anyone ever listened to Amon Amarth?

I'm guessing no.

I'm still trying to wrap my hippy brain around Mastodon and Meshuggah.
