Judging by the disparity between his writing ability and this guy's, I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that TJ never set a 'Sink the Biz' record during his time in Bloomington.

You'd think they could figure out a way to combine this with a "gravity bong."

You'd probably have to drive up to Purdue for something like that.

Drink with some enginerds.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/16/worlds-strongest-beer-sco_n_463975.html

"The flamboyantly competitive Scottish brewery BrewDog has released Sink the Bismarck!, a "quadruple IPA" that they say is the most alcoholic in the world at 41%."

"BrewDog's managing director James Watt: It is important that you be careful with this beer and show it the same amount of sceptical, tentative respect you would show an international chess superstar, clown or gypsy."

"BrewDog is no stranger to controversy over the strength of its product. Prior to the 40% Tactical Nuclear Penguin, their 18.2% Tokyo was criticized by alcohol awareness groups, so it crafted a low alcoholic brew called Nanny State."

Anyone up for playing Sink the Bismark! with Sink the Bismark! beer?

Is that Nick's Scottish Hut in Bloomington, Ind?

This on the itinerary on your Tour-of-Indiana roadtrip?

No. And don't scoff and mis-characterize the Apex Epic Road Win of April 2010 if you want us to save you a seat on the bus. Or in the trunk of my Civic as it were.

This is so bad, I'd root for the Orioles over this fucking team, but I can't. Because they're a fucking drug and you can't kick it and they'll never win anything and they'll always suck, but it'll always be sunny at Wrigley and there will be tits and ivy and an old scoreboard and fucking Chads.

One day I will finish reading that book. It's on the windowsill by my bed. Mocking me.

Metamagical Themas is more practical, although its fascination with Metafont seems to prefigure the final descent into "memetic ecology." It would be fitting if Steve Gerber had had Donald Knuth make a guest appearance.

On a completely unrelated note, I heard a pro tip regarding gravity bongs (traditional bottle-in-the-bucket design) that I wish I had known 50 mouthfuls of bong water ago.

Stick a ping pong ball in the air chamber to act as a poppet valve. When you push the bottle down, the ping pong ball will stay at the top of the water line, eventually seat itself in the center of the opening, and prevent water from being drawn in to your mouth.
