Not really the greatest follower to the last couple of posts but here goes:

I just got a really great job offer, and I'm feeling like it's the right move for me to take it.  However, it means that I'll be moving from Cleveland to Raleigh without my fiancee, at least until our wedding in August and possibly later depending on a couple of things.  I'm nervous about the whole idea, so my question is two-fold.

First, any suggestions for doing the long-distance relationship thing for the next five months? Second, are there Desipiots living in Raleigh or who have passed through there with recommendations about living, eating, etc?  I don't know a whole lot about the area, and I'll take any help I can get.

If you guys are solid, you should be able to make it. Obviously you will have to sacrifice weekends traveling back and forth to hang out, if you can spare the time. Not every weekend, you know...but having something to look forward to (dice the time apart into segments) should help make it go quicker. Also, if you want to save on phone bills AIM chat or MSN Messenger has video and audio for free...and you can also try Skype, which is free for Skype to Skype calls.

Planning a wedding from long-distance will be awful.  No way around that.

But it's just five months, and as long as you know it's only for a certain length of time, you should be all right.  It probably would help to know that it'll be kinda crappy, that way you aren't surprised if there are some rough patches.  Really though, five months isn't that bad.  You'll be OK.
