Stop being a sopping pussy.  Your eye doc will suggest a brand (probably AccuVue).  I have 14 day contacts.  I think I'm going on my 3rd month of wearing them.  Take them out every night and soak them and they'll last a long time.

I can sympathize with Eli because I just got glasses in April, but I already wouldn't mind shedding them for contacts. Just the thought of placing something on my eye just messes with my head so I hesitate mainly for that reason.

The weekly are a little more sturdy and sometimes recommended for a beginner because they can handle rougher handling. But they require more work as far as keeping clean and solutions.
Once you get use to working with them daily disposable is the only way to go. Wear them, throw them away, put in a new pair. No solutions, a clean fresh pair every day. If you lose or tear one no big deal. A little more expensive to start but you make part of that up in solutions.
As far as sticking fingers and such in your eyes believe me you'll get used to it.

And just wait till you pass out some night with them in and with a hangover have to first find, and then peel the half dried ones off your eyeballs when you wake up.

Are you awake/cognizant while this is going on? The thought of seeing a laser shooting into my eye kinda freaks me out. But I miss waking up and seeing where I'm going until I put on my specs.
