So, here's a situation that makes me look like a dumbass, but I might as well ask the question anyway.

I'm saving up for a new laptop, so for Christmas, I made the mistake of asking for "gift cards so I can buy a macbook pro."  In what should have come as a shock to no one, I got gift cards for the Apple Store, Best Buy, and Amazon.com.  So now I'm stuck with all these different gift cards and nowhere to go.

Does anyone know of any sites or places beyond those scams like plasticjungle/cardavenue/etc. that will allow for 1-1 trades between people with various gift cards?

http://www.giftcardrescue.com/

This may help you out - not sure. Looks like they might take some of the value.

Anyway, that was the first thing that came up when I googled gift card exchange. You should try that, too.

I went the "google card exchange" route and set up an account on cardrescue, but like plasticjungle et. al., they take a percentage (around 30%) if you want to get rid of one and no longer facilitate 1-1 exchanges.

Hell, maybe craigslist will work.

The cat's been placed, but I can still get you a deal on a long-suffering dog.

I'd take him in a heartbeat if I didn't have my hands full with the beagles.  That's an awesome dog.

I think that I may be the first this year to wish everyone a Happy Festivus.
If I had known that I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.   (Plagerized from numerous other folks)

You've clearly had too much corn nog.
I think he's more of the appendix of Desipio.  Yeah, it's here and you're vaguely aware of it, but only if reminded.  The only time anyone notices it is when it ruptures (on Weebs in the video game thread).  Beyond that, though, it's basically useless and offers no redeeming value.

That reminds me.  Last night, I started calling my little cousin Corn Dawg for no reason.  It's his family nickname now.  He didn't like it, but I told him it was awesome and he's got it as a second grader.  He'll thank me someday.

Wouldn't it have been simpler to just write it on his tokhes with a Sharpie?

What's up geniuses?

The wife and I are being gifted a new sectional couch of our choosing. Anyone have any tips on where to look for the best quality couches in Chicago? Price isn't a huge factor but if you know some place that has really good service and quality, long lasting couches that'd be swell.
