DPD.

Anyone have any recommendations for a blu-ray player?

Needs to be able to stream Netflix and load up DVDs without extreme delay like many of the cheaper machines.

But other than that, nothing fancy.

Hoping to be under $150, ideally.
Spend a little extra and you get a game system with all that stuff

I have a Wii, but it doesn't play Blu-Ray, does it?

I think my next step will probably just be to plug it in and watch whatever Disney Blu-Ray my daughter insists upon.

Hi.

Yeah, I laughed.  Really loudly.
This is so bad, I'd root for the Orioles over this fucking team, but I can't. Because they're a fucking drug and you can't kick it and they'll never win anything and they'll always suck, but it'll always be sunny at Wrigley and there will be tits and ivy and an old scoreboard and fucking Chads.

Hey Only Site - I'm looking for a Photoshop book for my wife. She's looking for something geared toward beginners. Anyone have any recommendations? I know there are some whizzes on this site.

My first thoguht is the 'For Dummies' series.  But, I've never read through one of those (am reading one now and it seems all right).  Does anyone have any experience with those?  Are those books worthwhile?

That may answer Slaky's question, too!

I've never been one for your fancy book-learning (so I can't speak from first-hand experience) but I've heard good things about the "Missing Manual" series from O'Reilly and Adobe's own "Classroom in a Book" um... books.

http://oreilly.com/catalog/0636920001140/
http://www.adobepress.com/bookstore/product.asp?isbn=0321701763

(Naturally, check which version of Photoshop she has first. The differences between versions of Photoshop these days are fairly minor in the grand scheme of things, but they do like to move some shit around between iterations and it could get irritating trying to learn on a different version than is shown in the illustrations.)
