Just got back from lunch where I was listening to Murph and the accounts on last night's bleacher fiasco where they threw 10-20 balls back on to the field after Dunn's HR in the 8th. While this is a troubling incident that I hope is isolated, what pisses me off is listening to the replay of the Douchebag Duo of Marty Brenneman and Jeff Brantley. They go on and on about how "classless" Cubs fans are and how the Cubs don't deserve to win. tHom Sr. launches into some crap about blaming a goat and everything else but themselves for 100 years of futility and how he "roots against" the Cubs. That's fine Marty: a few drunken Bleacher Bums symobolize all that you hate about the Cubs. It's that smarmy attitude that makes everyone think you are a clown and that you raised a sissy-boy for a son (fell down and hit a table in his hotel room is code word for beating in a fag bar).

However, I would think it rather uncommon for that type of violence to happen in a gay bar.  Wouldn't that be the kind of place where a big flaming tHom would feel safe?  And isn't normally the closeted gheys who inflict violence on unrepressed gheys?  For tHom, he would have to make a pass at either a straight man or a self-loathing,  closeted ghey to get a beating, no?  The odds of doing that and getting a beatdown in a gay bear seem rather slim, no?

The incident occurred when tHommy boy was with the Cubs. He showed up on the air with a nice shiner, and he attributed it to falling down in his hotel room (maybe Colorado?) because he was disoriented in the dark. There was immediate scoffing by the media, and I heard it from various sources that he was drunk and likely punched in a bar fight. Other sources indicated that it involved a gay bar, but that is not confirmed.

I was watching the game on the Fox Sports Ohio network, and they really came off as insufferable pricks.  First they started ripping on all the balls on the field, calling it a "tired act".  And not just what happened last night, but just the tradition in general.  Then they started dissecting the Eamus Catuli signs...  According to their sage banter, the AC under the sign stands for "After Championships"...  Right.  Too tough to check the interwebs from the booth?  "Anno Catuli", Thommy Boy...

Personally, I hope Ron beats the prick with one of his legs.  Or both, I'm not particular.

Yes, we should take advice from Marty Brennamen on how to comport ourselves with class.  The same Marty Brennamen, who along with his partner Joe Nuxhall, were read the riot act by Bart Giamatti for their part in nearly inciting a riot by Cincinnati fans after Reds manager Pete Rose was ejected from a game for shoving an umpire in the late 80's.  Class act, that Marty.
