Turd Throw is really making his case for why he's been treated unfairly.

Just as long as Ned feels the need to keep using Turdy in close games everything will be alright.

"We need to get Derrick in that mix to keep the bullpen balanced so that everybody is not pitching three, four, five days in a row," Yost said. "He has to get into these situations to prove to himself and prove himself that he's capable of doing it. He has history. He can do it. He just has to get back on track a little bit. We feel he's close."

It was exactly the sort of situation Turnbow has been asking for. "It felt good to get back out there in a close game," he said. "I've missed being in those situations."

I hope for Turdy's sake those situations come up a lot against the Cubs.

"They were coming up, being aggressive and ambushing a little bit," said Turnbow, who has a 9.64 earned run average after five outings.

Yeah, you just got ambushed out there.

"We do a lot of checking with a lot of people, and he's really getting close to getting back to the old Derrick Turnbow when he was really successful," Yost said.

Turnbow agrees. "I feel like I 'm getting back to where I was in '05 and '06," he said. "I have the confidence I can throw strikes now, executing a little bit better."

Then he added a qualifier.

"Hopefully," he said, "the results start coming."

I watched the end of this game last night and all the Brewers' announcers could talk about in the post-game was how they couldn't believe that Turnbow was in there when the game was tied. They thought he could only pitch when the team was behind. Nice thing to say about one of the pitchers.
