It quickly ended after they invited me into CrazyMLBRumorGuy's basement and offered me a Tab.

The NLC is still rancid. The thread can't die.

That's true. The thread title even allows us room for other stories nearly as hilarious as the time Butchie Yost let Turd Throw pitch an 85-win Cubs team right into the playoffs. Good times!

But let us not forget that it was Francisco Cordero who gave up Aramis' most epic mother fucking home run ever.

You have a funny way of spelling "Dontrelle Willis".

Are you referring to a first inning grand slam? I mean, I realize it was the first Cubs grand slam in the playoffs since it was still legal to own people, but I don't think a grand slam in the first inning of a playoff game in Florida compares to a walk off home run that turned the season around AT home in front of the fans. Since neither home run was part of a championship-winning campaign, I'll go ahead and say the one that actually ended a game in a totally epic fashion would be the "most epic."

The conversation belongs over at Yellon's site.  Has it been renamed SRD yet?

Nah, if it was on Yellon's site the most epic home run discussion would be between a Todd Hundley solo
shot in the 3rd inning of a a game the lost that landed two rows in front of him or a Sosa 8th inning solo
shot in a game they won by 12 that landed two seats to he left.

But the winner would be a 2004 game winning Larry Walker blast that he didn't see, but one of the
"ball hawks" on waveland sold to him and he got Larry to sign.

This is good work, here.

According to the Sunday New York Times, Cincinnati is going to win the division this year.  At least someone doesn't think that the genius will repeat.

Didn't somebody at the Times Pravda pick the Cubs to win the World Series last year?

Andre Dawson paid his $1,000 fine for the Joe West incident with style. Dawson wrote ``Donation for the blind`` in the memo section of his personal check.

I didn't know where to put this so here probably works as well as anyone where else. I'd really like to get you pro-union guys' take on this. Personally, I think considering the fact that it was the middle of the greatest recession since before WWII and everything, the market just dictated that, for most players, the rapidly increasing player salaries that led to players like Jason Marquis and Carlos Silva ending up with huge deals in previous offseasons just couldn't continue to go on that way. I also think that with the world-breaking deals handed to Teixeira and Sabathia and the big contracts that Hendry gave out before the last season, obviously there wasn't some wide-ranging conspiracy to keep player contracts down. Am I being fair in my knee jerk reaction that the MLBPA is just whining?
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

Unless you've had a look at the contracts being offered, probably not.

But I am lolling (not actually lol, just internet lol) at the people in those comments chastising the MLBPA for being greedy when it's the MLB owners/execs on the other side of the coin.

Yeah, I don't really sympathize with either side, because I don't really care which side gets rich. I just think the market in baseball had been escalating out of control for a while and I think it only makes sense that contracts were down last year.
