There were only 5 splooge threads on the main page.  I didn't think that was enough.  Now, there's six.

RotoWorld, MLB.com and a couple other recaps of the game keep mentioning how the Phils got hosed (well, RotoWorld is the only place so explicit about it) with the ball 4 to Kos-K and Howard being safe at first.  Welke had an absolutely terrible strike zone the whole game, calling pitches for strikes below the ankles.  That pitch to Kos-K was maybe about ankle-high, and he called it a ball.  Finally, the Cubs got a call in their favor.  Then on the play with Howard, none of it would have mattered if on the earlier play that inning (can't remember if it was Utley or Victorino), the Cubs turned two and the first-base ump blew the call.

I didn't see much of the game but I know for a fact that the Phillies are bunch of cocksmoking douchesickles with a fat, retarded redneck for a manager and they deserve whatever happens to them. The umps called a pristine game of baseball today as evidenced by the final score. Fuck Phillie and everything it stands for, except for brotherhood and Donovan McNabb.

That pitch to Kosuke was ball four.

Ryan Howard was safe.

It evens out.

Right?

Ahh, phuck the phillies.

Howard was safe, but whoever earlier that inning should have grounded into the DP on the ball Theriot drove into the ground about 30 feet from Lee, was called safe.  THOSE even out.  I'd say Kos-K's called ball 4 evens out all the ridiculous calls Welke was making on balls low and out of the zone from Blanton.

It was bad officiating for both teams.  The breaks we caught got us a run and kept them from getting a run.  Dems da breaks.  Still, getting to one of the better (I won't say best even with their ERA) pens in the league two games in a row should be a huge confidence boost.

I didn't see the game, but this seems pretty fair.

Damn good thing that there's replay to right those wrongs.
